Food was pretty good. This was my first time trying this kind of Philippino food and I enjoyed it. The portions are great for $15 a person. Meat was tasty as well as the seafood. Though it didn’t taste super super fresh but still enjoyed it. It’s also cool how the meal comes with a soup, soft drink and melona :)

This restaurant has dine in and take-out options. There's a hot table to choose fresh offerings made in the morning.They have a bbq station outside where they are making pork bbq sticks, lechon manok (roasted chicken).We order 4 pork bbq sticks $3 / stick. The bbq has a nice char exterior, and meat is juicy and tender. I did find several pieces of pure fat. I would appreciate it if the restaurant would not use the fat pieces on the bbq sticks. Service was friendly but we did have to wait about 20-25 minutes for our bbq. I'm ok as your order is cooked fresh.We also ordered one pork sisig with garlic rice. The sisig did not have the crunchy pork skin but mainly meaty pieces. Taste was on point nice citrus and savoury seasoning. I like this dish if it was served on a sizzling plate with egg on top.Overall, I would come back as the bbq sticks were definitely good value. Compared to neighboring restaurants they have the cheapest bbq sticks! They also offer party trays if you're looking to cater your party or event.

I have to say, we enjoyed every single bite of the meal in Kabalen, we had the Kamayan Feast. Considering the quality, the price is valuable.Service are also great and always efficient, happy and polite. Can't wait to return and wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone！

I'm pretty sure I got food poisoning from this place. All the dishes were lukewarm like it's been sitting there all day!!! All the dishes were a little on the sweet side. Portions were small for the price. I went around lunch time and there was a line. I joined the back of the line but after a while people just started pushing in and two other people who came after me got served first. Staff was just yelling next" and whoever spoke up first got served. Very unorganized and chaotic. Won't be back again EVER!"

Crazy good food, never had Filipino food before, this was a good start. Unrelated to the restaurant, the parking was a bit hard to find. Liked the idea of the hot food area. Had the BBQ meat, really juicy. Coming back for sure.

My favourite Filipino restaurant!I’ve tried just about all of them on Bathurst and Wilson and kabalen just hits the spot. The employees are fast and friendly. The food is delicious! I’ve tried their kamayan recently (beautiful presentation!) I love their bopis, always my fave! Can’t go wrong with caldereta and afritada on rice. Of course you cannot come here and not try their skewers. Their dine in area is clean and extremely inviting. I highly recommend.

OMG! My husband was hungry and I had suggested he go and grab some bbq pork skewers. They didn’t have any ready so he bought this instead - lectin kawale!I’ve had lechon kawale before, but nothing that tasted like this!!! Juicy, perfectly seasoned (just salt and pepper, nothing fancy), crispy skin and hot! It is to die for. I’m not joking.It came with two sauces - their own lechon sauce and a soy sauce with Calamansi. Soooo good!$17 for this container of meat - totally worth every penny!!!
