Hosaka Ya

Excellent japanese food at a moderate price. I recommend it to every one.

We only stay around for a night and craving for Japanese food. There are a few around but we end up here. I have order uni sashimi and maki rolls. Absolutely fresh and delicious! The manage is very nice and love their interior with a corner that selling small Japanese goods.

This place was ok but won't go again. The sushi were quite tasteless and small and the service was very slow although the lady serving us was friendly. Location was great.

Very friendly service and excellent flavorful food! We went at lunch and didn't see ramen on the menu, so in case you are looking for that, keep that in mind. Loved the quail eggs in soy sauce.

Good little japanese restaurant in town. The fishes are tasteful and reasonably priced. Not like sushi in Japan, mainly the rice, but I think it is going to be one of the best in town.

Fair prices, very good and fresh sushis. Very good teas. However, the restaurant is very small and quickly becomes crammed, suffocating, noisy, and hard to.maneuver in once only a few customers enter.

We were there a couple of days ago. When we entered, only one table with 4 people inside. After the waiter's clear introduction, we ordered our sushi and a combination of combos. Then we had waited for around 45 mins to get our miso soup. At then another half an hour, finally our sushi arrived. The taste was okay, not bad but not very good either. However, we were very unsatisfied with the speed at which the sushi was served. We know good sushi takes time to make, but more than one hour was far too long. I was making jokes by telling my friend maybe the fish was still swimming inside, so the waiting time was long. I personally don't recommend this restaurant to people who are hungry. But if you have plenty of time or want to talk with your family and friends before meals, then it might be a place to go. Originally I would just leave 1 star for this restaurant, but add 1 more to the friendly waiter.

For me, when it comes to quality traditionnal sushi in quebec city, there really isn't any other then Hosakaya-ya...the hosomaki are especially tasty and original. And we just love the butterfish nigiri!

Liked the bento lunch alot! Staff is very dedicated :) A bit small for groups. Better to call in advance for lunch boxes :) Very nice spot!
