McLennan Park Gated Dog Park

Dog parks are always good or bad based on the quality of the other dog owners. McLennan tends to lean on the positive side. As a park its fine. The on-site water for safe drinking is a good thing, but there is a lack of shade for people and dogs alike, though sometimes you dont want people congregating anyway so kind of a give and take.

Lots of space for dogs to run around.

Saw a group of owners howling with laughter at their male dog mounting another individuals dog in the park and doing absolutely NOTHING about it. Literally nothing. It was enraging to watch such irresponsible and downright abusive behavior.They just stood there and laughed with glee as this other poor dog was trying to desperately get away. They even said haha

A park I have seen getting developed on a dumping ground. So good to see a very good park in our community. Lots of kids all the time. My little one loves to play here. The large ground is also very good. The hill also is an attraction. Sunsets and sunrises are equally good at this park. Play area and splash pad is decent size.

We recently started taking our puppy here and while everyone there is kind and the dogs are all happy to be there, I have two big concerns. #1 the water supply has not been working for weeks. It's summer and NEEDS to be fixed. #2 there are two very swampy areas and my puppy got very sick after going into one last time. These should be filled in or blocked off! The smell is awful and the dogs are drawn to it!Please fix these things. We will be looking for another park even farther away until it is safe for my puppy to be there again.

Large open field for kit flying, nice splash pad and a great playground for all ages. Also had lots of paths around the park.

It's a gated, clean, safe place for dogs and people. You can let your dog run around without worrying about the general crowd. There are other dog friendly people with friendly dogs. All in all a safe haven for dog families

Love taking the pup to this park, it's spacious and clean. Greatly located right in the McLennan park area where there are also lots of trails to walk on.Right before you enter they have extra dog bags available outside the gate incase you run out or forget them at home. They have recently turned on the taps with water bowl located on the inside and right outside the gated park which is an amazing option for those thirsty dogs in the summer, you can bring your own bowl if you prefer that. The garbage cans are also always taken care of and I have not seen it too full.The dog park is covered mostly in mulch and has benches to sit on, to my understanding they are closing in June for a couple of weeks to renovate and level out the park again. It would be a great addition to add a few things for the dogs to play on such as steps, ramps, or false fire hydrants.All the dogs are friendly and they have guidelines on the inside and outside of the gates on how to manage and prevent dog packs" from happening and guidance to "aggressive dogs" in the park. The neighbourhood dogs all have fun when they come here!!As for the aggressive dog comments

Great open space for my big dog to run around and interact with other dogs.

Not a bad place. My dog really loves to come here.The other owners are usually very friendly and there is enough room for my dog to run around with the others.There are three benches so the owners can sit and relax while their dogs run around.They also have a bowl with fresh water which is very nice of them as anyone who has taken their dog on a run in summer knows- dogs get VERY thirsty.The location is very nice. I typically walk my dog up the hill and around the trails before ending up at the dog park where I let her run around to get the rest of her energy out.It gets REALLY muddy in the spring and fall, so be prepared for that.Would recommend.
