Joan Cotie is unprofessional and a disservice to Queer Families. Stay away! She literally postponed a mediation recently, that was set 6 months prior, had the gall to berate me when I said I didn't think it was fair to re-schedule... and then showed up to the mediation WITH SPOTTY WIFI. Not to mention, she forwarded a CONFIDENTIAL email from my side of this family matter to the opposing side. SO unprofessional. Joan Cotie is doing harm to Black/Indigenous/Queer families, and she should not be allowed to practice, in my humble opinion. I hope this message serves a child well, as I would have hoped to have this level of truth and honesty before going through 2 botched mediations" with this person. Proceed with caution. Be well and may we all find peace for our youth."

I was displeased with her service. My children have been witness to abuse and emotionally abused for years. She was unable to recognize this and used standard clauses to verify that her report was accurate and that everything was good. I had to provide the judge with photos of texts messages and audio recordings to prove the abuse was occurring, which contradicted her report. Her report caused more harm than good. Do not get a child’s view; it is a waste of money and time, especially when abuse is involved. If you choose her, get a full report done.
