A friend recommended we stop and try the PANNENKOEK or Dutch pancakes, very similar to Yorkshire pudding, but much sweeter, served with icing sugar, fresh fruit and a lovely helping of whipped cream on top. It was heavenly! Caroline and I shared a 12” pancake and I’m ever so slightly regretful that I had to share. Along with the congenial host, the Dancing Moose Cafe made a wonderful stop along the Cabot Trail, and we will be sure to visit again.Update: 2022-08-26Our second visit. The food and service were fantastic, and I enjoyed every mouthful of the pancakes. I'm looking forward to visit next year.

I wonder how people rated this any less than 5. We stayed at the cottage and had breakfast here in the morning. Everything was scrumptious and the service was totally on point. The views of the ocean were the icing on the cake. The beach is only 100 metres from the restaurant. Prices were cheap to moderate. Seating is indoor as well as outdoor. Ample parking available outside. We spoke to the owner Ton and he was very welcoming and amazing to talk to. We need more hospitable restaurants like this in Canada. Would definitely return.

Could not have asked for a better host. Ton was fantastic, and really super nice. The cafe is perfect for a really tasty and filling breakfast before hitting the trails. The muffins and coffee to go are great if you can't wait for breakfast (although I just recommend both). The cabins and bathroom amenities were spacious, exceedingly clean, and still private enough that you don't feel ontop of your neighbours. And two paws up from our feline companion that couldn't get enough of her cabin life. She probably spent more time on the ladder to/and in the annex than anywhere else in the cabin. I would 100% recommend to everyone. This is our only place to stay in Cape Breton now.

Loved our stay at The dancing Moose. The Inn has a Rustic feel and Ton is very friendly and helpful. He made sure we had Bbq facility on site. The rooms are very tidy and neat. Sad we couldn’t get Cabin 4 would have enjoyed the beach view. Loved the scrumptious breakfast and Turnovers were quite fresh and their lovely Dutch pancakes. Overall would definitely love to visit and stay again.

Our side by side group use this as our launch point, doing the Cape Breton Highland mountains down into the Margaree Valley, and back up Chetticamp trip and then back to Wreck Cove. Ton was a awesome host and his Meals were wonderfully prepared and enjoyed by everyone in our group! Accommodations were wonderful!We will be back 100%!

I truly don't understand how he can make. A simple breakfast Sandwich have so much flavour. It is absolutely perfect, and the prices are the best on the entire cabbage trail. Bravo, good sir, you will always have my business.

A great restaurant in Cabot trail. The food was great and view from table was amazing. The staff were super friendly as most Nova Scotians are.
