Yellow Bird Birth Doula

I cannot imagine trying to navigate birth (especially a first birth, like mine!) without the calm, competent presence of my Yellow Birth Doula Danika. She was the anchor in a chaotic day and brought confidence when mine wavered.

My husband and I went to the Prenatal Intensive Workshop and it was amazing. Both Danika and Brenna were extremely knowledgeable and professional but still kept it light and funny. They fit so much information in the three hour class and we left feeling much more comfortable and excited knowing more about choices that we did not know were available to us.We highly recommend attending the group class and will tell anyone we know about how awesome these ladies are.

Our relationship with our doula from YBB started off well, she completed two prenatal visits with us and discussed in depth our wishes. We thought she was knowledgeable, down to earth, and kind.I notified her right when my labor started and continued to update her throughout as it progressed. She failed to respond appropriately. We hired Yellow Bird Birth but ended up feeling alone and unsupported. During my labor she didn't communicate with me well and failed to arrive until 25 min before I actually gave birth.I was alone for much of my labor even though I had tried hard to set up a support system by hiring Yellow Bird Birth. I was made to feel that my birth was not as important as other things going on that day in the doula's life. She even said later that night that her child had a birthday party and two softball games she was hoping my labor didn't interfere with. In addition to asking her to come as quickly as possible, she made the decision to squeeze in a postpartum visit" between my request for aid and her arrival at our birth.After the birth

I usually only give positive reveiws. I regret having to do this...But I feel I have no choice here to warn you, there will be No Refund for any COVID reason.Our appointment was in March 2020.Because of the restrictions around Who was all allowed in the hospital, we had to navigate this stressful time to the best of our ability.It ended up being best not to have a Doula in the room at birth.We felt it would be fair to give at least a partial refund as the majority of the work/coaching did not happen.We reached out multiple times asking for some consideration about the circumstances.No understanding on their end, it's strictly a business contract and you will NOT get a refund.We had used them before, Yes they can be useful and I do believe their services can add value.Another note:If scheduling doesn't work out, It's too bad. they are moms who have kids, husbands, soccer practice, you name it. It's not like you have someone who is at your beck and call.So make sure you have thought this through Before booking. Thank you.
