This is connected to Lake Champlain in the U.S This is in Southern Quebec. In the nice weather Boaters often travel by water to visit the restaurants on route by river..there are many local Marinas as well..In Lacolle Quebec. Saint Paul Quebec and Saint Jean Sur Richelieu to name a few..very Beautiful to see..In the Winter many Snow Mobiles ride the shore line. And some people snow shoe..

Nice river and lock system. Never used it for boating but did do walking and biking alone it over the many years we have gone here for vacation. Very shallow for the size of it but makes it interesting to see all of the wildlife resting on rocks sticking out.

Used to be - and still is - a gorgeous river when boat traffic is at it's lowest. But in some places, it's so crowded with pleasure crafts that sometimes they create floating towns in specific areas, making it very difficult (and dangerous) for fisherman to practice their favorite activity.

It's a river, full of life, some endangered, some are harbour seals. Don't drink or bath in it. Not clean yet.
