Unexpectedly nice parking lot however the out houses were closed. They are open at the conservation authority properties now, as well as at rideau lakes properties and should have been open as of May first. Toilets are a necessity.

Take the trail across the street to visit the Mica mines. About an hour of walking. You will see some interesting remains of the farmsteads and mining operations. I’m glad I live in the 21st century.

A tour was just starting so I found it crowded and noisy. I'm sure that 99 percent of the time it's super-peaceful. Washroom on site.

Very well kept trail, not very difficult terrain at all. Interesting history, as detailed by great information boards and neat displays. Definitely recommend for people with little hiking experience or those looking to learn about the history of the area.

This was a great hike, but make sure to do a tic check while hiking and again when you get home. Found a total of 5 on our six year old.
