I am so stoked I took the CORE in person with Martine in Kamloops. I'm an experienced outdoors person with a husband who hunts and she still managed to keep my attention the whole time. She respected that I wasn't a beginner and challenged my knowledge appropriately. I HIGHLY recommend this to outdoor enthusiasts who want to turn harvesters.

I'm a former long-time vegetarian turned meat eater, and as a way to both address our own health and that of the planet, I can think of no finer way to approach eating animals than that of Eatwild. I'm three courses in, and I am a convert. They are helping us make a better world.

Many thanks to Dylan and EatWild for an enjoyable evening learning about butchering. I really appreciated Dylan's ethical approach to game harvesting, sense of humour, and ability to keep the group engaged with both theory and hands-on application of basic butchering techniques. Bravo!

I recently completed the EatWild butchering workshop with Dylan as the instructor. As the other reviews confirm, it was a very well-run workshop, and highly educational. Hunting and ethical harvesting is a subject about which Dylan is passionate and more than happy to share his considerable experience and expertise. I'd highly recommend EatWild courses for individuals who are either just starting out or who would like to brush up on their skills. Thanks, Dylan!

I recently attended the Spring Field Skills Workshop (3 nights). What a FANTASTIC experience! Everything from the location, instructors/guides, course content, food (seriously... the food... wow), other attendees, and everything in between was incredible.Dylan and Rob (our instructors) catered perfectly to the various comfort levels and knowledge of everyone in the group. No question was left unanswered and I noticed that both Dylan and Rob would often quietly check in with each attendee to make sure they were having the best time possible. The gear discussion alone likely saved me more money than the total cost of the course.I would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone interested in picking up field skills in an incredible environment.Thank you!

I attended a couple events in the spring foraging series by EatWild this month and had a great time! Dylan and Jodi are wonderful, thoughtful hosts who centre their teachings around connection to nature and building community. The workshop and virtual cooking class were so informative and a fun time all around. I found the content really approachable as a total beginner and I've learned some new cooking and foraging skills that I can't wait to build on :)

I Just finished the Online Core course and Core test with Eat wild. I’m usually not a fan of online learning, it’s difficult to concentrate and retain the information. However with the eat wild I really enjoyed it. Comparing this to getting my game license in Victoria, Australia I’m finding the Core program in BC run through Eat Wild great value. For any one out there looking to take their core and get out there and hunt, eat wild is a great place to start.

I recently had the pleasure of attending the Hunter Field Skills Workshop led by Dylan and Rob, and I must say it exceeded all my expectations! From start to finish, this workshop provided an exceptional learning experience that left me feeling confident and empowered in my outdoor pursuits. The entire EatWild team, showcased an impressive depth of knowledge and expertise. They were not only passionate about their craft but also skilled at conveying complex concepts in a clear and accessible manner. Their enthusiasm was infectious, and their commitment to our learning was evident throughout the entire workshop. They fostered a supportive environment where questions were encouraged, and no detail was left unaddressed. The practical aspect of the workshop was where it truly shone. Dylan and Rob led us through various field exercises, teaching us essential skills such as tracking, navigation, and wilderness survival techniques. The hands-on approach helped us grasp the concepts effectively, and the instructors provided constructive feedback tailored to each participant's needs. I felt my skills improving with every activity, and I left the workshop with a newfound confidence in my ability to navigate and thrive in outdoor environments.I would also like to extend a special thanks to Miki and Jody for the incredible food provided throughout the workshop. The delicious meals were the perfect complement to our outdoor adventures, and it was clear that they put thought and care into creating nourishing meals for the participants. The food enhanced our overall experience, and it was a delightful surprise to have such culinary delights in a field workshop setting.Overall, the Hunter Field Skills Workshop by EatWild was an outstanding experience. It combined expert instruction, hands-on learning, and delicious food to create a well-rounded and highly enjoyable workshop. Whether you're a seasoned outdoor enthusiast or a beginner looking to develop essential skills, I highly recommend this workshop. It's a fantastic opportunity to learn from knowledgeable instructors and gain invaluable insights into the world of hunting and outdoor survival.

I started with the Butchering Workshop, quickly rolled into the Hunter Field Skills Workshop, and aim to continue through the EatWild curriculum, from CORE to Foraging and beyond. tl;dr is that you can't go wrong experiencing what EatWild has to offer. This crew is absolutely amazing and emulate everything you could want to see in the modern-day development and evangelism of field to table eating. These folks are extremely learned and experienced, thoughtful and practical, relatable and friendly, ethical and mindful. The Butchering Workshop was a great appetizer leading into the Field Skills weekend. The mentors I had over the weekend count their experience in decades, not just years. And with a diverse history of experience, there is no shortage of learning to be had. Dylan and crew gave me an experience that envies any BC weekend holiday, and with the bonus of having gained so much practical skill and knowledge -- orienteering, field dressing and quartering, sheltering, ethical hunting, gear and sundry, bushcraft... My only complaint would be it went by too fast. :)I came away with an even deeper appreciation of our wilderness, and a greater respect for the harvesting of animals. It was clear that our mentors, Dylan, Celina, Rob, and Jeff all have a reverence for what they do, and they convey it in everything from instruction to impromptu campfire chats. And the food!! Jody and the amazing dishes she created and served all weekend (to such a large crew, to boot). A wealth of knowledge in hunting, harvesting, and turning them into dishes I'd happily have over any restaurant. I honestly ate more in those four days than I had the previous week -- it was like 5-star Thanksgiving feasting everyday. And all smoothly coordinated by the tireless efforts by Miki, ensuring we students had everything we could possibly need.I anticipate my next courses with EatWild. They've encouraged me to continue in my own journey and development, towards finding greater appreciation for the outdoors and finding alternative ways to source my food, in an ethical way and a mindset towards conservation.
