Wakefield Covered Bridge
We decided to drive here and park in the nearby parking lot to walk to the covered bridge. We walked there first I noticed the big flower gardens in front of the bridge with the history of the volunteers. While walking I peeked on one side to take photos and the on the other side with a different view. Plus there was history along the bridge while walking to the other side. I’ve never been here before and it was nice to visit for the day. I would definitely go back again.

Wakefield Covered Bridge
One of the few picturesque pedestrian bridges left. Beautiful views and paths to explore. It is only accessible by car and parking is extremely hard to find. Worth a visit.

Wakefield Covered Bridge
My kids and I jump from the bridge regularly. You can't drive across the bridge and the parking is on the East side.Water is currently way too fast for jumping (June 8, 2023). Also the mosquitos are the worst they have ever been. Best to wait till August.Also avoid buying anything in Wakefield. Prices are really expensive.Always check the water by swimming first and use a spotter to make sure no boats or swimmers are going under the bridge when you jump.

Wakefield Covered Bridge
I cycled from Chelsea to Wakefield along the river up to the bridge. What a nice ride along the shore looking at the cottages on the river Arriving in Wakefield the river is wider and you can see the bridge from there.A very short drive brings you to the bridge and the area is quiet and relaxing. You can even swim under the bridge in the river. It's a return to the old days. There is no car traffic there, just pedestrians.

Wakefield Covered Bridge
A rebuilt historic covered bridge, close to the beautiful town of Wakefield. Enjoy a walk across this no vehicle bridge, views of the river and rapids downstream and some local museums nearby.

Wakefield Covered Bridge
It is a quiet area with the covered bridge as the highlight. Gatineau River is pretty and tranquil; with the sound of water flowing. Cyclists and walkers frequent the area; there is historical signage to read.

Wakefield Covered Bridge
A very special place to visit. The locals are very nice & friendly. A swim under the bridge is a must. I was fortunate to live close by a few years and would watch the sunrise daily in Wakefield. The only issue with this town is it gets invaded by folks from Ottawa on summer/fall weekends and they leave garbage everywhere, plus they lack the tact and decorum of the charming locals.
