Avis Car Rental

I don’t know how this company is still in business. Returned my vehicle and after returning they charged a random $36 to my visa. Tried calling the rental location multiple times and they do not answer their phone. Keeps going to the call centre and they cannot answer any questions. I am truly shocked on how terrible of customer service this company has. Ridiculous.

Workers there try to use existing damage to charge next person. Not sure how often they've done this but renter beware!! They don't do inside vehicles checks when doing walk through and then say something inside wasn't noted.

I don’t know why this location has such a poor review but my experience has been positive. Rented a Dodge Charger. They did try to up sell a Dodge Durango but was not pushy when I said no.

I’m hoping I can change this 1 star to a 5 rating. Dropped off my rental yesterday and was told this morning that I will be charged for a tiny hole in the seat. But they were unable to tell me how much I would be charged .. what?Firstly, I took a picture of the hole as soon as I noticed it- no interior inspection was done prior to me taking the rental - which when I mentioned, was told it was my responsibility to do. Also super frustrating that there were no interior reports stating any damage or wear and tear was given to me on Any documentation I received when picking up the rental. I have opened up a claims report and am hoping they will be responsive and reasonable as the car was returned in great condition.

Very bad experience agent giving me hard time to rent a car i just went somewhere else

If you can I would suggest going to the Enterprise Rent-A-Car down the road from this place, at least they make the trip worth your time.Booked a rental with these people and went there to pick up the car. So far so good you would say, the good things stopped there though and the experience was pretty much downhill from there. Brought an international drivers license with me, which caused some mental 404 solution not found error with the person *helping* me.When it came to paying you get slapped with an unusually high reservation of $500. You have to agree with the deposit if you want the car, so begrudgingly I’m giving them my credit card. Only for the lady to have another mental 404 error and telling my credit card is apparently not a credit card?Either the people here are insanely competent financial masterminds, or they cannot for the life of them tell a credit card and debit card apart from each other. As the saying goes: ‘’If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck.’’ → ‘’If it looks like a credit card, acts like a credit card, and is regulated like a credit card, then it's probably a credit card to everyone but these people.’’In short: 1/10 the only good point is that they are close to a way better Enterprise Rent-A-Car.

I'm only giving 3 stars cuz the vehicle (2019 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross) we got for a road trip to Vegas (almost 5000km) was amazing. This vehicle did amazing on gas (didn't even spend $500 round trip) and handled well.There was, however, confusion upon picking up and returning the vehicle. We were quoted one price and had a contract stating so but was charged more. Even after they thought the pricing was fixed we were still over charged. This also happened when we returned the vehicle after they said they resolved the pricing discrepancy. We're still waiting to hear back about being overcharged.Upon picking up the vehicle we paid debit and the fee that was on the credit card should have been reversed. It turned out that we were still charged on the credit card even after paying in full by debit. My mom called, as it is her credit card and everything was under her name, and they said that that fee on the credit card should be reversed in 3 to 5 business days. Since we paid in full by debit why was there even a charge at all put on the credit card??? All very inconvenient and could be very confusing to customers with so many charges on their credit cards and they could miss being overcharged.

Rental vehicle was very dirty and stinky when iPicked it up. I had to vacuum and sanitize the van myself before using. Very unfortunate the lack of cleaning especially during covid19. I was unable to get in touch with anyone about this matter, i tried 3 times. I only rent from this location because its the cheapest option for me in Edmonton because of my discount. I cant add the pictures on this review unfortunately.I tried responding to the email provided below by the owner but the email rejects all emails and says try again later. Thanks for nothing avis.

Just recently rented a car which was very expensive for a one day rental. When we dropped the car off at a different location, there were an enormous drop off fee we were not aware of. Contacted both Avis Edmonton and Avis Canada and neither would negotiate a solution. We have been very loyal customers with Avis for as long as I can remember so I was very disappointed :(

A reliable Avis location in Edmonton, I rent a 2 week rental 2 or 3 x a year. Always give me the car I book, or better. Great service and clean vehicles..... it's hard to reach them on the phone but they do return messages.
