Toronto Metropolitan University Campus Store

I placed an order to pick up a textbook and was supposed to receive confirmation within 3 business days. My card was charged...but over a week later, no confirmation. When I called the campus store to try to resolve the issue, the director (Kelly Abraham) was rude and condescending and essentially accused me of lying about having made the order at all. He then instructed me to email proof of the purchase, which I sent as a screenshot of the purchase on my credit statement. He told me he would get back to me that afternoon. No response.

Wish I could give them zero stars. They refuse to give refunds, no matter the issue. Very very rude and inconsiderate for no reason. Does not care that we are students and many of us can barely afford food let alone a $130 textbook. Will never purchase a textbook through them again.

They have so many things out of stock yet they don’t tell you until after you’ve ordered, it’s RIDICULOUS!! And this has happened multiple times too! It shouldn’t be that hard to update what’s in stock on your site. I would give them negative -10 stars if I could, just straight HORRIBLE!! I never even give reviews but I am so frustrated. I expect better from them, such a disappointment. Learn to update your website please

DO NOT ORDER YOUR TEXTBOOKS HERE FOR IN STORE PICKUP. I placed an order for two books that are in stock, and selected in store pickup. It’s been two weeks and I still haven’t been emailed confirmation telling me that I can pick them up. A week in I called and was told that I’d probably get confirmation the next day… another week has passed and nothing. Huge waste of my time.

I have been a new student at Ryerson University and have had the worst experience from this bookstore. In two semesters they have messed up my orders. They have sent my textbooks to the wrong address and have caused massive delays in my orders. The customer service is terrible. Whenever you call, the staff is unhelpful, rude, and condescending. I truly would recommend to any Ryerson student, buy your books from the publisher. I have fallen behind in courses thanks to this bookstore and their inability to fulfill a simple order. Do not waste your time and your money.

How are students supposed to buy books when the bookstore hours are shorter than the class hours? The bookstore opens after classes begin and closes before classes end. It's likely that this is no oversight, and this is a strategic move to reduce payouts to low-wage bookstore employees. What I have difficulty believing is that there is not enough money in the system to provide adequate hours, when many faculty members take home well over 6 figures in pay each year. Maybe the president should cut his near-half-million dollar salary in half, so that the school can afford to properly staff the facility's ONLY bookstore. I'm rather disgusted, to be honest. Who are these hours supposed to be convenient for? Certainly not students. The school could employ students in the bookstore for goodness sake, which could be essentially free for the university if employees can pay down their tuition this way.

Everyone in there is so rude and for what reason. One of the workers told me I could return a textbook and when I talked to the head of the department Kelly Abraham, he pretty much called me a liar and said none of his workers would have ever said that. Extremely overpriced books, don't waste your time with this store or the people!!!

I had ordered couple of hoodies like 10 months ago. After endless emails sent and none answered I gave up. No money back or anything. I mean if you wont answer your emails why even staff the shop.

Be very careful when purchasing anything from this bookstore. One of the workers are very manipulative and will tell you you’re buying one thing when you are actually buying something else. Can’t speak for every employee but I can tell you there is definitely one employee who needs to be let go. Very unprofessional. University students do not always have financial stability and I now have to find another way to purchase a textbook as I was not able to return one of the textbooks that I was told was correct, which ended up being different. Very disappointed. After speaking with the employees, knowing their mistakes I was still told I would just have to keep it. Crazy. Please, be careful when spending money here. Would suggest buying somewhere else instead. I am now in loss of 100 dollars. Never again.
