North Range Cemetery
This is the cemetery that hosts the burial site for the famous Nova Scotian painter, Maud Lewis. I just discovered this cemetery recently. I didn’t even know it existed. Finding out that Maud Lewis’s burial site was here was a complete shock to me. I have visited all of her replicas and other tributes in the area but wasn’t aware of this cemetery. It is a very small, quiet and unassuming cemetery in a remote part of the area. Tucked away in privacy. Thee is a beautiful memorial to Maud Lewis here with flowers similar to the ones she painted, and a replica of one of her paintings. A bench sits nearby for people to rest near her place. Touchingly well done, but not over-done.
