We had a wonderful stay at Away From Home Comfort. My husband recently moved his company to Thunder Bay so we wanted to visit with him for a couple of days. We have a toddler and two little dogs so the thought of staying in a hotel was a little daunting. The apartment was great and very clean!!! It felt like home and was in a very nice, quite area. It was close to everything we needed. The hosts were very attentive and kind and the bed was amazingly comfortable. We will be back!!!

We stayed at DuncansInn and it was great. Nice fenced in backyard for my dog. It was clean, and cozy. My old boy loved the heated floors. Nice area, bakery with fresh baking right across the street. Everything close by, locally owned grocery store not to faraway. Strongly recommend this place if you're ever in Thunder Bay.

Sketchy experience overall. Lisa was initially pleasant to deal with, and this seemed like a good fit as I needed a place that was dog friendly and fully furnished for 4 months in Thunder Bay. Unfortunately, things didn't work out as well as I hoped. The building exterior is rundown, with shingles falling off and weeds growing out of the eaves troughs. An old commercial sign remains out front, and security cameras are mounted questionably all over the exterior. A pile of old scaffolding or similar material is piled in the side yard, it is clear that nobody takes even a small amount of pride in the building. The unit shared a small hall/entrance with another unit, this entrance was filled with disorganized cleaning and maintenance supplies. The unit seemed poorly cared for, for example a collection of broken small appliances in the kitchen cabinets that had been replaced but not removed and food from previous guests still in the fridge and cabinets. While I appreciate sharing some condiments, there was a good amount of expired or questionable goods which I disposed of. The bedroom had two sets of sheets - one was threadbare, and the other fitted sheet did not like to stay on the mattress overnight. The bedroom window right next to the bed looked out onto a covered porch filled with maintenance supplies in the back yard, while the front window looked out at a small covered porch used by other tenants for smoking, so I had to keep all curtains closed at all times for privacy.The lease contained a number of questionable provisions, including a significant security deposit, charge to have an additional person stay more than 3 nights (the unit accomodated 2), and a $120 COVID Cleaning Fee". This fee would have been reasonable if the unit was clean - while it was not bad

Messy in the back all the time, garbage and tools everywhere.. make sure to take pics of little things in the apartment before moving in or else they’ll blame you for every little thing, scratched paint, scratched floor… anything

WE STAYED AT DUNCANSLNN FORM JANUARY 2019 TO JULY 2019 AND IT WAS NICE THE KITCHEN WAS ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL THE LIVING ROOM AND THE DINING ROOM WHERE DECENT THE BEDROOMS WERE NICE THE PLACE HAD A FURNACE INSTEAD OF STUPID BASEBOARD HEATERS THE DECK WAS A NICE SIZE AND THERE WAS A ROOF ON THE DECK THE TILE FINISH IN THE BATHROOM AND THE KITCHEN WAS BEAUTIFUL THE PLACE ALSO HAD A CENTRAL VACUUM THAT WE NEVER USED CAUSE THERE WASNO HOSE AND NO TOOLS FOR IT AND WE ALSO HAD ARE OWN VACUUM BUT THERE WAS ONLY ONE PROBLEM LISA WAS ALWAYS HANGING OUT WITH THE NEIGHBORS

The place was just what we were looking for! Conveniently located to town and places like Sleeping Giant and Kakabeka Falls. It was so nice to be able to have our dog with us and all the fixings of a home away from home. The Current River was a great walking path for us to explore that was right down the street. Would recommend to anyone looking to spend some time in the Thunder Bay area.
