Spinach gomae was sent back. Asked for a house salad to replace and it never came. Veg tempura went uneaten...some pieces undercooked and others over. Edamame looked rather brown but was edible. Sushi rice was mushy. There were lemon garnishes on the rainbow roll. Plastic grass decorations and parsley on the plate with the rolls. Timing issues from the kitchen. The servers were pleasant and apologetic but very novice.

I'm giving it 5 stars because it's the best Sushi you'll find in Regina... as Regina does not have good sushi typically. My boyfriend and I regularly get Sushi and have tried other spots in regina with high reviews but moving here from Calgary where there's plenty of great sushi restaurants, Regina has a disappointing and bland variety. However, Sakura had a good selection, and doesn't give you a roll that's 98% rice (unlike everywhere else here), the rolls are filling and packed with the contents. Also I love the actual dining experience, the decor and tables were refreshing and service was great!

I've been here a few times and it's okay sushi. Not mind blowing but I don't think twice about returning. The staff has been nothing but great. If you're downtown and want sushi then you'll be satisfied with a decent experience.

Ah, Sakura Sushi. Someone finally moved in to Michi's old spot. I was able to try Michi once before it closed. I hope this place sticks around. The food was pretty good. I wasn't disappointed. I love that they are using bento boxes. The service is seriously lacking. We were seated rather quickly, only two servers on staff over lunch, and it wasn't horribly busy. I placed my order, and received my Miso soup within minutes. About 10 minutes later, my companion had received her dynamite roll. I waited for another half hour for the rest of my bento box, so that left me with 10 minutes of my lunch to eat the entire thing. I didn't get to really enjoy my meal. I had to get out of my seat and ask the waitress to bring me my food. It was brought out moments later. I had complained to the waitress when paying for my food. She didn't offer a discount or any sort of compensation...In closing, food is pretty good, service is seriously lacking!

Everything was bad. Gomae was thawed, frozen spinach that hadn't been cooked with a small dab of sesame paste (?) laid on top. So weird. It was like it was made by someone who had never tasted the real thing. Gyoza wasn't hot inside (not cooked through?). Sushi was really gross and actually smelled. The servers were polite so we paid and rushed out. We were the only table on a Saturday night. They have to figure out how to improve or they won't be open long.

Arrived with a party of four who were the only people in there at the time. I only ordered salmon sashimi, while everyone else ordered multiple rolls and cooked dishes. Everyone else received and ate their food, and when they were done, that's when my raw, sliced salmon showed up.We may have gone within the first two months they opened, but hopefully they've worked out their issues.

I went there yesterday. The food was ok. The waitress was excellent, always smiling but the manager was a really stupid guy. We was trying to use our Groupon and he didn't accept. I lost 1 hour there trying to solve. He don't care nothing about the clients. I can't believe that this kind of business will survive for long time. I will never back there again and you shouldn't. There is better places with better staffs.

Their small place in were overcrowded by the beer place just right on the patio. But trust me, they have quite a delicious sushi. I tried dragon roll and makimo sushi. It was superb! The cuts were even and huge, for each menu had 8 sushi roll. Such a nice spot in downtown, just across Victoria Park.

The food tastes really good. I know it is hard to get fresh fish in Saskatchewan compared to BC, where I am from. However, I can taste the freshness of the sashimi and I can see the effort they put into their food. Server was really nice. I am happy I can get Japanese food at this quality in Saskatchewan. Highly recommended!
