Purchased a home before covid, but nothing is ready. The closing date was delayed a few times but now they are asking for more money. Svetlana, from the office, is very rude and unprofessional. Can't believe this is what we are getting in Canada. And now they say if you can't come up with extra money they will just give you back your deposit....

A contract is put in place for a reason. It’s to agree on the purchase price. After numerous delays and push backs of the closing date to then turn around and ask people to pay another $175,000 ??? Trying to push people out of these homes before they’re even in it!!! Just so you can sell them for a higher price in todays market. Insane. Do better Briarwood.

This builder held our deposit money and delayed the build for the last 6 years. Blamed it on COVID and kept asking for more money to start the build.The representatives of the company we dealt with were rude and unprofessional.

Money stuck for 6 years and still no house!!! and they keep saying more delays. Look like they want everyone to walk away so they can sell with a $400K profit. How is it possible that post covid when pretty much everyone is working you have issues... even lumber prices came down!!! All corporate greed

I purchased a house with Briarwood with Sidney! My fiancé and I were SO excited about the new house :D after reading the contract we realized it comes with popcorn ceilings (not a huge deal) we thought we would ask if there was any way they could include smooth ceilings. The response from SIDNEY WAS:“ The office will not do anything you have to come in 3 to 4 months before closing... To pick the decor out.. We gave you all these bonuses on the sheet and still you complain you were not forced to buy the house we have lost buyers now that would have paid a lot more money.. you cannot start changing a contract 16 days after the fact..on the contract it is a automatic firm up after 7 days..that's why we encourage all customers to take it to a lawyer for review.. you have not complained about the $20,000 discount though and about extra fees for development that alone is worth at least 30K what you're talking about is maybe two or $3,000.”UNBELIEVABLY unprofessional! However, we still went on to buy the house. We had 14 days to give the pre approval- they cancelled our purchase out of nowhere (no one answering our calls, emails, texts) saying we had 5 business days.. as per our contract we had 14 and gave it in on time!!!Now they won’t respond to us. DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS DEVELOPER! ESPECIALLY NOT SIDNEY, LIANA AND CASSANDRA!!!Most unprofessional people I have ever met.

Money Greedy Builder. Signed up for a new house in Spring 2017.. full deposit was given in few months. it is still not built yet; now asking more money. Worst builder ever. People should be aware of this company’s scam. Find a better builder and buy.

Extorting hardworking Canadians for more money after delaying the signed and binding sales agreement which THEY WROTE. Almost 3 years after leaving a deposit, buyers were called into a meeting one at a time and given 2 options. Pay almost $200k more or we won’t build the house, or take your deposit back and go away.There are numerous new articles on this. Every angle they tried to use as an excuse had been a lie and proven to be a lie.Look elsewhere for a builder.

In our experience, Briarwood Homes comes out on top! The customer service that we have received after closing our new Briarwood home has been amazing! The Service Manager, Perry, is professional and has been a pleasure to work with. He is very responsive to any of the issues that we have raised with our new home and is quick to arrange any trades needed in a timely manner. Having dealt with many new home builders in the past, we highly recommend Briarwood as a quality builder and their customer service team!

I have no words to describe this difficult experience. Many negative reviews were removed or deleted. I would not purchase from this builder again.

Purchased prior to Covid. My pre-build home price went up 500k after purchase and prior to beginning, the builder asked for and extra 150k on top of my purchase price or walk away with 100k cheque. Non-negotiable. We now have a lawyer. This review will be updated periodically. Buyer beware.We have backed out :( We couldn’t financially match a large corporation and their lawyers. There is a reason you were unable to search my name. My cottage build blamed covid as well but they are still building with a slight loss and generated a fair solution. Their customers came first.
