Excellent theater that programs a wide variety of new and classic documentaries. Definitely worth signing up for a membership, because they offer a bunch of free tickets to screenings to make it worthwhile. Seats are very comfortable and wide. They have main level and balcony seating. Just saw the new David Bowie Doc, Moonage Daydream" there

Love that there is a theatre dedicated to documentaries. The membership is definitely worth it. The lower level is comfortable, but take a warm coat in the colder weather. I am tall, and the balcony seats were very uncomfortable for me. All in all, a great experience.

Simply a lovely place to watch a film. Seating downstairs is much more comfortable than the balcony. Snack bar in the lobby is LICENSED and you can take your cocktail in with you for Showtime Enjoyment. Buy the annual membership for discounts on everything, including beverages, and make a habit of Doc watching.

Good location. The cinema has a good and comfy screening space. Definitely an older venue, but has a good sized screen for the space, good sound, great service and volunteers. The one missing star is just my wondering if the neutral gender washrooms are the clients’ only choice. I do prefer not having to be one of 50 ladies waiting for a washroom while the men’s loo is empty, but if my only option is very tiny with open urinals, it seems a little insensitive to a person of any gender.

From the time we got here it was altogether an excellent experience. The box office guy was very pleasant and well informed. The River Doc we saw was Super and the theatre was very comfortable Screen and sound were best quality, doing this excellent film 's photography credit.

I love this Theatre previously known as the Bloor Cinema for second run movies. I love that they kept it's nostalgic dim lighting and warm cozy feeling throughout the conema. The balcony and orchestra levels give unobstructed views of the screen. I'd recommend seating anywhere past row G in orchestra level for a movie. The screen is generous. The sound is good for a small theatre. The posted pic of the screen is from the first row in the first balcony. Friendly helpful staff and volunteers make this venue a warm nostalgic movie cinema experience. There are many restaurants in the area from Ghazale (SHWARMA), and a variety of pubs such as Victory Cafe. Excellent documentaries.

If anyone gets assaulted by the gentleman that the cinema allows to stay there should hold them responsible for all damages. They are not helping them but enabling them in descend further into heavy meth use

Great local theatre for documentaries. Go upstairs and they have kept the original seating. Be sure to check out the Hot Docs film festival which starts at the end of April every year. Volunteers help keep the cinema running.

Been going here for years, well before the reno, when the place was a dump but saw some midnight madness TIFF films here. Now well past the changes, I quite enjoy the atmosphere here--the seats are nice, the balcony is a rarity nowadays, and the concessions have a small but good selection. Aside from the Bell-TIFF Lightbox, this is THE place to see docs in T.O.!!!
