I was a bit hesitant after reading some of the other reviews that people left regarding the rescue itself. I had no such issues and my adoption process was smooth and straight forward, I received a follow up shortly after submitting my online request the same day and scheduled a appointment for the next day. I really appreciate the fact that the animals were there in person to meet as I had an unfortunate experience adopting my 2nd cat from another shelter who did not do a meet and greet before the adoption was finalized. My mother and I had planned ahead as to which kitten we were thinking of adopting and after getting to see all the little ones in person we made the decision then and there to take our new addition home with us the same day. The volunteers working that day were friendly and approachable and answered any and all questions I had regarding our new potential family member with ease and clarity.I really don't understand all the negative comments regarding the health of the animals post adoption, their establishment is on the small side in comparison to say facilities like the Humane Society so there's always the possibility that the animals waiting to be adopted may or may not develop something that the staff may be unaware of. Also to note because their facility is on the small side it may look dirty" at first glance but the volunteers do their utter best to keep everything clean despite the number of animals housed there. I took my new baby straight to the vet right after the weekend and asides from very minimal wax build up in the ears which the vet said was fairly common for animals that are housed together while at rescues

Seriously, if you're in the market for an adorable kitten or cat look no further. Dogs and puppies are in foster and you need to Book an appointment to see them! There is also, rabbits, guinea pigs on site!

I adopted one of the ragdoll kittens on Saturday, November 28th. The day I brought her home, she had diarrhea and blood on her stool. She was lethargic and slept lots so I just thought she just needed time to adjust to her new home.We took her to the vet on Tuesday, December 1st to get her checked for her diarrhea and bloody stool. They sent us home with medication. The following days, she did not get better and lost her appetite completely. She had no energy and just slept all day.On Saturday, December 5th she started coughing and clear liquid came out.The following day, she continued to cough but this time there was blood.I rushed her to the emergency hospital where they ran tests and got her blood work done. We were told that she had pneumonia and had a very slim chance of survival. The doctors suggested that we put her down because she was suffering. On Sunday, December 6th we said goodbye to our Luna.We only had her for a little over a week and the vet and hospital bills came up to almost $2000.This was my first time adopting and I am traumatized. I do not recommend this rescue.

Jasper, a Blonde Brindle European Great Dane. A great friend of mine came across him through WHARF. He was 10 months old, 105 lbs at the time. He has just passed 6 yrs old and 160 lbs. He is such a love bug, lap dog, smart, goofy, well behaved, loves people, loves car rides especially in my classic cars. Has become some what of a Celebrity at all of the local car meets. Huge dog riding in a VW Beetle, etc, lol. Dealing with WHARF, was a great experience, keep up the great work. He is such a big part of our family and much of our lifestyle evolves around him. Couldn’t imagine life with out him.

One star is too much in my opinion. We spoke with a foster" the day after i inquired about a dog and arranged a meet and greet for the following weekend

Had a very interesting conversation with Ashley on the phone. Safe to say this rescue breeds negative biased opinions upon homes they take surrenders from. For example:My boyfriends dog had a litter of puppies. My dog was the father .It was not intentional.I cared for them for 4.5 months of their lives and want to prevent littermate syndrome and they are draining my bank account.Out of 8 i only needed help with 2.Upon calling to confirm I could still bring them I was met with :I won't take the puppies without proof of spay and nueter of the parents. Cause in 6 months Your gonna call again with more puppies"Definitely not. For multiple reasons

I love this place. The animals are well looked after. The staff is very polite and friendly. They give their love to the animals. I have got most of my pets from here and I am always telling everyone to go here. Thanks to them my family is complete now.

We adopted our kitty a year ago and he is super sweet, no behavioural issues, and very healthy. I do feel that the volunteers really mean the best and have the very best of intentions. They were very friendly to us and seemed to genuinely love the animals in their care. That said, I can definitely understand the negative reviews as they were very disorganized and there were initially several paperwork mixups. They also really seemed desperate to adopt out animals immediately as they appeared to be very overcrowded.I’m glad it all worked out because they had his age wrong (we were told a year or two and he was actually 6 months when they found the paperwork), his paperwork had two microchip numbers (only one was correct) and there was even some confusion as to whether he was male or female! He did also have feces and mats on him, a problem we never encountered again once we got him home and one that may have been caused by overcrowding. I think they have bigger and better cat condos now though, so that may not be a problem anymore.Although I would adopt from WHARF again, I would be very careful about making sure all the paperwork was in order first.
