Chartwell Wynfield Retirement Residence

We moved my Mother into Independent Living April of 2021. From the initial query, the tour of the facilities to the actual move, we found all of the staff very inviting, professional and very helpful. Their handling of COVID, with zero incidents was very impressive to me and all of my mother’s needs and our requests are always handled with respect and personal attention.The units are very attractive, well laid out. The staff work diligently to truly care about the residents, and bring a fun and upbeat social environment.Wynfield has exceeded my expectations, and my family and I feel at peace, knowing my mother is in a very safe and caring environment.Steve W

We recently moved our Dad into Wynfield Retirement and are very impressed with the kind, caring and compassionate staff. From our first conversation they were extremely helpful in answering all our questions. Once he made the decision to move in, they assisted us with the move in details to make him feel comfortable in his new surroundings. Wynfield Retirement offers many things to do and our Dad likes to participate in the daily activities and he enjoys the food and the company in the dining room. He always has nice things to say about the staff.

We moved our dad to Wynfield's Retirement Home in Nov 2022.We originally met with Kathy and she instantly made us feel right at home. All the staff and volunteers are fantastic. They are always happy and interacting with the residents and visitors.Jessica has been extremely helpful with all of our dads personal needs. We feel comfortable calling on her whenever we need advise or to check in.Moving dad to Wynfield's has turned out to be the best decision we made. At almost 92 years old he is thriving there. He is very social so he made friends right away and he was welcomed by everyone. We can't say enough wonderful things about Wynfield's. A very big thank you to all the staff and volunteers!

We had a very very positive experience with Chartwell. Jacquie Platten worked with our family and she was incredibly kind, compassionate, and professional. We learned so much from her and our time meeting together at Chartwell and we remain grateful for the supportive approach she chose to help us with on our journey. I will not hesitate in the least to recommend Chartwell to anyone who asks if they are on a similar journey that we are currently experiencing.

What a fantastic experience!! My dad was fine with moving into a retirement residence but I could tell he was still nervous. His first meal was lunch and when I asked him how it was he said it was the best hot dog he had ever eaten! He has fit right in and is enjoying the company of the residence. I am most appreciative of the staff there making him feel comfortable and welcomed. My dad was also thrilled to find his freezer stocked with his favourite ice cream treats!!!! That personal touch should say it all about the quality place the Wynfield is.

I'm a home care nurse and visit this RH often. This is one of the best retirement homes I have been too. The staff are amazing, friendly, caring and compassionate. When something is wrong, they act immediately. The nurses go above and beyond and are always helpful when I need assistance. The home's PSW are so amazing with the residents as well. The management team are always prompt when dealing with any concerns and are very approachable. If I ever have to put my parents in a home, I would choice Wynfield. I wish I could more then 5 stars.

The staff at Chartwell Wynfield are kind, caring and compassionate individuals. They make you feel like you’re a part of their family. They always greeted us by name when we’d go visit my mom. We would recommend this place to care for your loved one(s) for sure. Thank you to all of you that help care for my mom and we will miss seeing ALL your cheerful faces.

When my mom passed away 1 month ago, we needed to find a new home for my dad. We visited 5 in the Oshawa/Whitby area and this was by far the best one in terms of room size, attentive staff, and a home" feeling instead of a cold hotel vibe. They have been so great with him

Our Mom and Dad chose the Chartwell Wynfield over a number of other residences they visited just over 7 years ago. Mom was anxious to get moved in while Dad was more reluctant, feeling it was too early (at 87!) to give up their home of nearly 40 years when they could hire out most of the maintenance. They came to love their new lifestyle and knew the staff from the kitchen, to the servers to the management and support staff throughout the residence. We witnessed team members going out of their way to make the residents feel special many many times. Mom passed away in 2017 and Dad continued to soldier on in spite of breaking both hips in an 18 month span. He was thankful to all of us “kids” for the regular visits and for keeping him in the Chartwell Wynfield. He said his desire was to stay in his “home” till the end and his wish came true. He was treated with love, respect and kindness in his final days. We couldn’t have been happier with the help and support the family received. Thanks to each and every staff member for their unwavering attention along this journey. You made a huge difference in all of our lives and for that, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

It was an emotional process and such an important decision to choose a Retirement Home for my 95 year old mother in December 2019. We felt very comfortable at the Wynfield from the moment we walked in for our first look. It is welcoming and so clean and tidy. Mom felt home" from the first day. She is happy and cheerful and lights up when one of the staff walk in. All the staff are also happy and cheerful...!!! And so patient and kind and knowledgeable. She looks forward to her meals. Her one bedroom apartment is spacious and bright. As I like to say.... "Boy
