Detroit City Sweep

We called Detroit City Sweep for a review and estimate for a rebuild of our chimney. Met with Dean and we reviewed the chimney from the basement to the roof. They are very experienced and Dean knew what services needed to be completed in detail. We received an estimate on the spot and it was very reasonable for what needed to be done. We scheduled the work and moved forward. It took a few days to complete with this Spring weather. Dean is a true craftsman and he took his time to get everything done perfectly. We are extremely happy with the end result. I would highly recommend Detroit City Sweep for chimney reconstruction.

Office staff were very pleasant and professional. They scheduled an appointment quickly. Owner came out to my house and was again very pleasant and professional. He put on booties before he stepped into the house. He also brought a drop cloth to use as he inspected the fireplace. He did a very complete inspection and gave me specific instructions on how to properly operate the gas fireplace insert. The price was reasonable as well. We will definitely call Detroit City Sweep again and refer them to others.

We scheduled for this company to come out and do a chimney sweep. A guy came and after 4 minutes of using his phone flashlight to look at our chimney he said he needed to come back another day and do a diagnosis which is $600 per chimney. We have two chimneys that need to be swept. So after paying him $175 for a 4 minute “inspection”, he wanted us to pay another $1200 for a diagnosis, with no work being done whatsoever. I explained to him that the chimneys were inspected and fine 3 years ago, but he wouldn’t budge. We hired someone else.

Detroit City Sweep came to my house for a chimney sweep and inspection in November 2019 and did a fantastic job with the sweep and clean up. They left me with a list of about 4 repairs that needed to be done. Me being a first time homeowner, I was surprised to find out that the previous owner hadn't ever maintained their fireplace/chimney since they'd lived here for 30+ years. Steven came back out recently in July 2020 and completed the repairs he'd left for me back in November and kept his word to his original price quotes on those repairs. He was in and out in about an hour or so and again, left everything super clean and took his time to explain how to work the new parts he'd installed. I will be using them annually, they've done an AMAZING job! Thanks!

Called earlier this week and requested a quote to have a fireplace installed. I was told the technician would be at my house today between 9am and 1pm today and that I would recieve a text 30 minutes before arrival. It is 12:50 pm and no still text or technician. We are not waiting any longer and will be looking for another contractor.

Nate & Pat were very efficient and provided multiple options for resolving issue with our gas fireplace. Office staff, Brittney, did a great job of keeping us updated on the status of the parts and schedules. Would recommend them for your chimney needs.

Detroit City Sweep LLC helped solve a problem that was plaguing us for years. Our walls were falling apart due to our chimney. So, we scheduled an appointment with the lady over the phone, (who was very nice and patient ). They came, inspected, and gave us a good price to help our chimney. Not only that, but they were courteous, patient, and explained everything to us in great detail. They did an excellent job, and cleaned up after themselves nicely. Amazing Work!

On April 28 Jordan of Detroit City Sweep came out to do a tuck-pointing job on the front of my home which is mostly brick and stone. They did a great job overall including sealing the porch, but it appears the rain right afterwards messed up this very important area...as seen in the photo. Jordan agreed to comeback on Sat May 22nd to address the issue, but was a no show. Hoping he will reconsider.Sincerely,John Walker

I had an excellent experience with Detroit City Sweep. I called for a chimney flue replacement. Customer service was very friendly and helpful. They sent Adam and Kory, who were both highly knowledgeable and capable. They knew exactly what needed to be done and did not waste any time. They worked hard and did a fantastic job, all for a very reasonable price. I could not have asked for better workers!I highly recommend Detroit City Sweep for any Chimney work that needs to be done.

Called this company to come out and tell me if I could use my fireplace and what needed to be done if not. And all I got after literally looking up the chimney for less than a minute was an 1,100 estimate with no clear explanation. All I was told that for $350 a camera inspection would be preformed. The technician was just fast talking me so he could leave and go watch the Michigan game I guess. Both questions I asked were deflected to that $350 camera inspection. The whole estimate took less than five minutes. When he called he said he was 11 minutes out and he's was done with my home in less than half of that. Needless to say I don't think I will be using this company
