Once Upon a Child

This is a fantastic store. Picked same toys for the grandkids to play with when they come visit. Lots of great toys and mountains of clothing in great sharp to choose from.

I just finished my back to school shopping. Great deals and fantastic prices. Staff was very helpful and polite. I will definitely be back.

8$ for a toddler t-shirt… the place is well run but I can get a brand new t-shirt at Walmart for 4$. I would love to buy second hand but the prices are ridiculous.Editing as a reply to below; I just bought 2 George shirts and a pair of George pants (before looking at Walmarts brand new prices), I looked at all of the prices and they were consistent, maybe varying by 50 cents or so. T-shirts we’re 8$ and pants were $10… or more! So $20 for a toddler outfit. Seems more like you’re taking advantage of the current price gouging crisis and have thrown sustainability to the wayside. You’re charging vintage shop prices without putting in any of the cleaning or repairs that a vintage shop would. Also the cash that you pay customers on the spot is pennies.As I said, it’s well organized and the staff have been great, but in my opinion the prices are outrageous.

Good spot to buy second hand clothing and kid toys. Prices are reasonable and staff are friendly. The organization of the store is well done. You can definitely find lots of items for your little ones at a bargain. The store is a bit cramped but that's because they have a lot of inventory.

Anytime I’ve come in the customer service is great!So buying anything from the store isn’t an issue, how ever some of the products in store are over priced,But when it comes to buying something from customers I always feel like it’s a waste of time, like I’ve brought in brand new clothing literally still with the tag on it and get pennies for it or straight up refused.I don’t understand and I’m not the only customer that feels this way either. I don’t know if the employees (the ones in charge of the buy counter) are just extremely picky or judging by the person for what they bring in or what.I just know I won’t be bringing anything else into this location.

Great used children's goods store. Has plenty of toys, clothes, books etc. Some new stuff, some used stuff. This once upon a child store is smaller than the other ones I've been to, but is still worth the visit if you are in the area. They also offer a points system and accept trade ins.

Great store to buy gently used articles for the kids in your life! I have taken to buying presents for my nieces and nephews from here in hopes to support a local business and reduce my footprint. Friendly staff, great updates that you can receive via text or from following them on social media.

Update: The store owner contacted me to fix the problem I explained below. They've issued us a refund for both items, and we're grateful.We really like the clothes we've found here. However, twice now, the Guelph location sold us either broken toys, or toys with missing pieces. They explicitly said they had 'checked' the toys before shrink wrapping them and putting them up for sale. No returns allowed; only exchange or store credit. We're disappointed, and won't be buying toys here any longer.

Im redoing my original review. I'm a mom of three so saving money is my past time. While I still agree that a lot of the clothes are over priced or selling at new price, I do have to say when I go in, I go in for the brand names (which I always find at a far price) or I go in for their books (which are amazingly priced. For example I bought a book for 3.68$ and it retailed for 18$. Last week I bought a book for 5.50$ and it retailed for 40$ on sale). I love this because books should always be cheap and affordable. I hope they don't change the policy on not pricing books.

Customer service is not great, I called a few time to see if they were taking clothes and only getting the answering machine. Drove from Kitchener just to be told as we were walking in they are closed and not buying stuff.It would be nice for staff to awnser the phone or atleast change the machine to let people know
