Excellent service and great quality materials. I had no idea what I was doing with my closet renovations and they helped me pick the materials, find a good carpenter, figure out designs and tracks. They responded quickly to emails and helped me stay informed of delivery dates. The delivery guys were great too!

Had a bad experience with RBS. Bought some pocket door frames. First it was built out instead of left in sections. I would not be able to get it into the elevator. At time of install one of the pocket frames was 1 inch shorter than the other. I was present when my contractor unwrapped and went to install. When I called RBS to explain the issue the ops manager assumed my contractor had screwed up. After a couple of days and a site visit RBS reluctantly supplied 2 new metal side strips which my contractor had to install.If I had bought my frame from Home Depot, they would have replaced the whole thing when I returned.I understand people screw up but as a business the first thing a customer wants is resolution to the issue, not to be treated like he is the problem and not to be trusted.Sorry, but I cant recommend this company.

This is the BEST building supplier for all your building needs in all the lower mainland. I have been using them for 35 years for all my building projects and they are always friendly and helpful and eager to find a solution if they do not have what I need. Their new showroom is awesome for sending all my clients to and all my clients leave there feeling that they have been given expert opinions and fair pricing for all their doors, moulding and lumber needs. I would highly recommend RBS for all your building and renovation needs.

Richmond Building Supplies helped me out a small jam to get an order for drawer handles from a nearby supplier that has a showroom but does not take walk-in cash business. Brian at the order desk knew the situation, helped me place the order and got me going to get the product from the supplier.Helpful and excellent service for a customer that is not a tradesperson had a smile come on my face. We can't say enough about the top level service we recieved from our salesperson Brian. He welcomed us and went above and beyond for our needs in finding finishings for our new exterior front door. When we had a hiccup with our contractor, Brian was there to fix it without hesitation. He ensured we were totally taken care of throughout the entire experience at Richmond Building Supplies. Thank you Brian for everything that you did for us! We will be repeat customer for sure!

I went in to grab some crown moulding for my living room. I went in quite late and the staff were still pretty friendly about it. Dave was the main guy that helped me and he was quite patient with me. He gave me the samples that I needed and when I went back the next day looking for another sample he didn't bat an eye. My order was probably quite small at 64 feet compared to the normal amount these guys probably deal with on a regular basis with contractors but it didn't felt like the service was any less. Definitely check this place out even if you're not a contractor.

My husband had emailed a couple times looking for help with sourcing a specific design of baluster. He got respond and we provided a photo...never got an answer back.I went in yesterday to follow-up. Waited 5 minutes to be acknowledged (only one other customer in store). I showed the picture of what I’m looking for and I’m told to try another company on Annacis Island.The attitude appears to be one that doesn’t value a new customer walking in.

Giving it 2 stars because the guys at the back are helpful but the front stuff is not.Went in for some planks to build shelves. The guys at the back was helpful and pointed out which ones they have that will work and directed me to the front for the price. The guys at the front just straight up said nope they don't have any even though I can literally see them in the back when I walked from the warehouse to the front.

I have been dealing with RBS for over 5 years now, originally referred by a Richmond builder who recommended me to Kyle. The service, product, price selection, and availability is all 5 star. I want to give a big shout out to Kyle. He went above and beyond helping me get doors, trimming and casing to finish the work on site before our contractor left for another job. Thanks again for your hard work on our behalf.

Can't say enough good things about RBS guys. I stumbled upon them by mistake and started with closet knobs and hardware and kept coming back for other things. The team is awesome and so helpful - I was trying to get some hardware from Rchelieu and they wouldn't sell it to me but only a business - I called RBS and David and Kyle on separate occasions placed an order for me even thought they don't carry Rchelieu products - I was super happy and pleasantly surprised - thank you guys!My last two purchases were cedar planks for our fence and planters and we are absolutely blown away with the quality and the beauty of the cedar - we bought over 300 planks and there wasn't even one defective one and the colors and patterns of individual planks are unique and beautiful. Mike, the sales person helping me, is amazing and so great to work with. Thank you Mike!I would highly recommend RBS to anyone and will be going back for future purchases.
