Marble River Provincial Park
Very nice area. Today (May 3 2018) my boyfriend and I hiked to the bear creek falls. We were the only ones there the entire time which was super awesome. We were constantly calling out to make sure we were heard for wildlife. The trail is a little over run but really easy to follow. We had no issues. Currently the gate to the campground is closed and locked. But you can still easily access the trails. The campground looks very west coast and I am in love with the upper loop spots. I am for sure planning on coming back when it is open.

The trail was a bit messy from the fallen trees. We had to climb over the trunks a lot of times. If you are not in good shape, the way to the falls is not so easy. There are a lot of ups and downs, plus the trunks on the trail.

Hands down my FAVOURITE part of the north island. The hike here is magical. Camping is free. So many different types of mushrooms to be found!Don’t try camping under the shelter in the rain, it floods!

Nestled in the rainforest of vancouver island, This park has excellent, well maintained outhouses. Locking doors, information on the walls, toilet paper! This place has it all. Please note after a long weekend the toilet paper may run out but there are some hidden outhouses at the beginning of the campsite that may still have some.

A rugged trail through old growth and blow down with a few river access trails. Bear Falls is the best one.

Took the trail a few kilometers down the river. There was a really nice spot to picnic, swim, and enjoy the scenery. The trail is not stroller friendly, but good for hiking and mountain bikes.

Great trail to hike if you get a pleasant day. The camp sites are free with a first come first serve basis. Campsites are closed half the year but the trail is open year round.

The hike to Emerald Pools is a must! It's about 8km to the pools & back, & considered a moderate hike.

The trail winds through the forest from the Marble River Campground and is pleasant enough. Although it follows the course of the Marble River there are very few spots to see the river. You can’t help wishing to be closer to the water. But at the end of the trail is Bear Falls, making it all worthwhile as in season there are salmon to be seen jumping up the falls.A short extension takes you to Emerald Pool but when we were there there was only a short stretch of river bank to stand on in, the rest overgrown. Possible ok for fishing but not ideal for swimming. If you go in late summer expect to find huckleberries and salal berries in the forest.
