Gossip Hair Salon

The hairdresser Karen completely ruined my hair. I asked for chocolate brown with caramel type highlights and for some reason she kept insisting that it would take multiple appointments to go blonde. I found out why at the end of the appointment when my hair was blonde on top and brown on the bottom and the hairdresser essentially kicked me out of the salon, saying the appointment has run over too late and she needed to get home to her daughter. I had even sent her photos of what I wanted beforehand- if there wouldn't be enough time shouldn't she have let me know? I had to get the colour corrected at another salon and luckily found a good hairdresser who knows what they're doing that way. I hate leaving bad reviews but I would stay far away from this hairdresser, she does not listen to what you want and I have no idea how I ended up with the dye job that I did.

I have been coming to Gossip for a few years now and still cannot believe that I have never written a review. From my very first conversation with Alaina (the owner) on the phone, I knew that this was going to be an amazing experience. She has ALWAYS been professional, on time, very accommodating when it comes to scheduling or re scheduling appts, she comes with an amazing wealth of knowledge of colour/s and cuts (which is not an easy task when it comes to my hair), she has never rushed me, her salon is always absolutely clean and her techniques are always on par with current trends. I have bad OCD when it comes to germs and grim and I have NEVER had an issue with this salon. I was scared as were a lot of people in this pandemic when things re opened, but because she worked so hard while the shop was closed to ensure everyone's safety (masks, hand sanitizers everywhere, contact tracing forms, no extra people in the salon that did not have appt's, keeping the door locked as to not have people wandering in and out and contaminating the salon, water bottles given instead of water cooler, partitions with plexi glass to keep everyone safely distanced and she even re arranged the inside to make sure people could walk around freely without having to come in contact with other people) she did all of this to keep us the client's safe. No matter what words I write here will never amount to the knowledge and talent this lady has. She truly is a skilled champion in her craft and I have loved every appt I have ever had. Thank you Alaina for everything you do, thank you for your talent and for putting up with my inability to make hair choices prior to coming in! Thank you for always making me feel great!

Mercedeh has been our family hair stylist for almost ten years. She remembers me coming to her when I was pregnant with my youngest son. She has been the only stylist my kids have ever known and they love her. We all do. She is so friendly and kind, and she is a great stylist. She has become a friend and I will follow her wherever she goes. If you need a great stylist who is also a sweet and gentle soul, go see Mercedeh!!! You’ll love her too.

I'm giving this 2 stars only because I liked my hairdresser, Mersedeh. Otherwise, I found when I arrived 8 minutes early that I couldn't wait inside as they keep the door locked. Supposedly because there is a liquor store next door,but none of the other businesses feel compelled to do that. I wasn't told when I phoned for my appointment the week before that they have a policy of keeping customers standing outside waiting, otherwise I wouldn't have bothered going there. I normally go to a different salon, but this one is much closer to my house, so I thought I see what this salon is like....I won't go back.

I love trendsbychanell. Chanell always makes my hair feel and look amazing. She is so talented with her colouring techniques. I highly recommend her. She strives to keep the integrity of my hair while bleaching and colouring.

I’ve been going to this salon for a few years now ,this review is way overdue. Alaina has made her clients feel safe by asking you to call and or text the salon when you are outside. The door is locked and your stylist will meet you there. It’s nice to know not anyone can just walk right in. Alaina is always on time which is very important to me, and she has never double booked another client while I’ve had an appointment with her , which I appreciate. Overall the salon is lovely and all the staff here is friendly

Mersedeh is a fabulous hair stylist who can cut, colour and highlight the thickest hair so it looks so stylish and fresh! Highly recommend her services!

I love my stylist Alaina. She always makes me feel great and I've been here for years. The salon is upbeat and a happy place. You can tell everyone loves to be here!The only con I can say is the sink as it really hurts my neck and my friends say the same. Still will keep going back!

0/10 would not recommend, im so glad i didnt follow through with my appointment after the experience i had just trying to book one. Ive always heard of self made stylists doing whatever they want just because they can get away with it but never seen it myself. Im shocked to say the least. Zero professionalism or customer service skills, this business is clearly only alive because of instagram not having a reviews section, would have crashed and burned if she tried to run a 'business' in any other era.

I reached out to Gossip on social media when I realized my daughter's fresh cut from another stylist/salon was not what we hoped for. They responded promptly and were able to book her in later that week on a cancellation. We met with Kaitie* and she was phenomenal with my daughter. She paid very close attention to the corrections she had to make and didn't rush the process just because my daughter is a child. I am so happy we were able to find her. Kaitie is a skilled, professional and personable stylist who pays attention to detail. 10/10 recommend.
