We had a lovely walk at Fort Rodd Hill and Fisgard Lighthouse. It's a National Historic Site and it's well maintained with an interesting history.

We love coming to the Fort Rodd Hill and Fisgard Loghthouse National Historic Site! It’s a great place to take out of town visitors to Victoria or just to visit as locals. The parking area has plenty of room, is very close to the entrance to the park, and has lots of trees for shade as well.

a wonderful place to look back into history ...A great interactive location, you get to walk around and see how the Canadian Forces were used to protect our boarders. You get to jump on a rotating turret gun, go into bunkers, find out what Glow worms are...After looking at the Fort - it's a short walk to Fisgard Lighthouse, another place with amazing views of the waterfront!

This is a place most tourists go to buy but locals seem to know about, you should really check this historic location out, very nice setting and a nice change from a regular park setting. Try to visit on a sunny calm day or be prepared because the wind can be a bit chilly off the water, either way don't miss it!

Even in bad weather the views from this National Parks-run site can hardly be beat. Gorgeous, sweeping, dramatic views across the Strait of Juan de Fuca to the Olympics, as well as of our own rugged coastline. Fisgard Lighthouse is beautifully set in any direction from which you would view it, so take the time to walk out the causeway and take a stroll around the rocky shore. Be aware of the time though; Parks Canada are ruthlessly accurate in their stated closing times, and it's further back to the parking lot than you think. If you're feeling moved and inspired, you can also rent one of the Parks Otentiks in season and spend the night on site. The evening sun is especially kind here!
