Sumac Kebab Kitchen

Amazing, we were thoroughly impressed with our Persian Burrito and Kebab Dish; the sumac on the fries is amazing, and the light thin bread under the kebab and rice dish is truly a great touch. We were wondering what was taking so long for the order but it was being worked on with care! Thank you!

I went to this restaurant a few times before the pandemic. It was clean and the food was really good. Then I went back there with some friends a few days ago. The food was absolutely terrible and the service was even worse! The man who served us had no clue what he was doing and I could tell by his face that he couldn't care less about the customers. The place was filthy especially the washroom. One of my friends got sick a few hours after we had lunch at this restaurant. I felt bad for myself because I suggested to have lunch in this disgusting place thinking the pre-pandemic quality was still there. Avoid this place like the plague and just go to a McDonald's or anywhere else but there. I'm very surprised the place is still in business. Even one star is too many for this review!!!

The portion size is huge! The taste is so good! I do highly recommend trying! My only complaint is that it takes 20-30 mins to prepare sometimes, as it’s made fresh. If you’re in a rush, calling ahead of time and ordering is your best bet! You won’t be disappointed!

When you walk in the first thing you will notice is people standing around waiting for their orders in a relatively small space. There are only 4-5 tables but there are more seats upstairs by the bathrooms. The staff are nice and friendly. I ordered the chicken kabob and I was amazed how quickly the prepared my order. Presentation was prestine, food tasted pretty good however the quantity isnt great when compared to other persian restaurants with even cheaper prices per portion.

Absolutely horribleThe amount of potatoes in this food is CRAZY.There is barely any rice there. It’s basically a layer of bland potato, with a couple spoons of bland rice on top with fried pita bread on top of it all. So basically just potato and bread.The stew is also super bland, dry and literally filled with potatoes(AGAIN).The koobide was very mediocre.In general the food need more salt and less potato.Wont be eating there again

We had chicken wrap, was quite tasty, lot of quantity and good with quality. Surely will try again.

A small little place with a big heart that is what sumac Kitechen is. We went there wanting to try something and ended up having their biggest platter and it was so fresh and tasty two people finished the whole platter in no time.When we first saw the platter we were very sceptical as to what we ordered was right for us just because we saw it online and wanted to try it and the person behind the counter said to have it so he could make more money. But all of our thoughts were wrong once the dish came, because the way it is made is clean and the flavours are really nice and it doesn't seem heavy at all.I think for our first meal of the day we made the right choice choosing this place. Our timing was really great so that we didnt have a long wait time and seats and not fighting with online orders(they shelled out 4 orders online while we were there).The songs were beautiful on their stereo and the weather was really great with birds chirping making it even better. We had a fantastic irani tea to finish the meal. Their places are adorned with intricate decor from their country and its really cute.Its a really great place to get together and share and grab a meal.We would recommend you to go to the place and get it. If you go to the Art Gallery of Ontario and are hungry from all the walking and hours of staring in the gallery, go to Sumac Kebab kitchen for a feast on a budget. We ordered Chicken and Veal Sandwich, Beef koobideh (beef with rice) and two different types of yogurt (cucumber and eggplant). Amazing food! The sandwich tastes even better if you add the yogurt to it. A bit messy but very tasty!

We had veal (barg) and chicken (joojeh) and it was flavourful and tender. There are delicious crispy potatoes hidden under the rice (tahdig). The space upstairs is cute and authentic, the view isn’t bad either (see photos). The management was friendly and welcoming, we will definitely be eating here again.

Please avoide this restaurant. The attitude of the owner was so bad. Not inviting or welcoming. Couple of friends went there and all of us had food poisoning after having food there. The food were already prepared and the owner just heated up with microwave!!!The wash room wan incredibly dirt and not usable.
