A couple of days ago I stopped in there to get some wood filler for a project. On getting home a few minutes later I use a magnifying glass to read to details and realize it's non hardening/stainable. I immediately return to the store and tell the salesclerk that I need to return it. She says it's a final sale, no returns. I go back and find a stainable hardening wood filler and I see a sign that says all Minwax products are final sale although not marked down at all. I ask to see a manager and to plead my case. I say it's only been a few minutes, I couldn't read the direction's fine print, I'm buying a second more expensive product. The manager says rigidly and sternly no exceptions! If they did it for me they would need to do it for everyone. I say of course there are always exceptions. If a person just bought a cottage package I'm sure they would let them return an $8 unopened wood filler. I often go the extra distance to this store to support it and buy local. It's not as close for me as Rhona, Lowe's or Home Depot and I could have shopped across the street at Canadian Tire but I chose to support McMunn. I've shopped there for years and bought products from every isle and department in the store. Well, I'm sure not going back after being made to feel so unimportant to them. I think Princess Auto has a good idea on how to get customer loyalty with their motto No sale is final until you're satisfied""

The parking lot is a disaster. It looks the same as the city streets. It is a real mess. It has been like this for years now. It makes it hard to bring your lumber across the parking lot. Especially with the old rickety carts they provide. Several times I’ve had my lumber fall off the carts just trying to get to my vehicle. I’m not the only one. I see the same happen to other shoppers. There is also no cart return station. The carts are either abandoned in the parking lot. Or they there brought up to the front of the store. There is no dedicated cart return at the front of the store either. The carts often don’t stay at the front of the store because of the angle of the entrance. The carts just make their way back into the parking lot on their own.UPDATE : The “Please don’t take our pens”Signs have been removed from the store. These google reviews definitely have an impact.These handwritten notes were posted everywhere throughout the store. Especially at the cashiers kiosk. It looked incredibly unprofessional.However I still can’t believe this company can’t provide help yourself pens to clients with the company logo and phone number. Just like the Insurance companies do.I have had only pleasant experiences with the staff. They have been friendly. I often get greeted when I enter then store.

Always have everything when I'm looking for at a great price. Service is OK sometimes very slow but I always come back.

Absolutely horrible stock selection. Tried to pay with credit card and their manager claimed that he could not type in my credit card number because they are locked out.

Save your time and money and go elsewhere. They never have anything they advertise in stock and will tell you they do even when they don’t and when trying to get the product it’s nothing but a hassle and a headache.

Terrible experience with Dan in sales and Bernie. Would not return a call or respond to emails regarding questions about an invoice. Would highly discourage people from dealing with him

I stopped in Wednesday,May.25.I needed,some pressure-treated 4×4+Composite Lumber.In the lumber-yard;William was very helpful. He promptly,helped me find materials(+make 19 cuts

We phoned and ordered 70 1x6 8ft micro sienna boards and the girl we dealt with was very nice they priced match home depot ,out of the 70 we had 3 that were damaged and 4 that were warped but managed to use for cuts very happy with the boards and service. THANKS

Staff are very friendly and helpful. Prices are ok and don't have to leave the neighborhood. Usually a good selection of products.
