Canoe Therapy - Leading Children's Therapy Clinic

I just wanted to express my gratitude for Canoe and all the people who work there! We have looked around at a few clinics and decided on Canoe. They have made us feel comfortable and at ease with the entire process since Day 1. The last few months have been overwhelming to say the least and the staff at Canoe have taken that weight off our shoulders with the care they provide!!

I bring my daughter to see Physio Therapist Kaitlyn Ross and I am always pleased to see how well she interacts with my daughter and makes us feel comfortable each visit. You really get a sense of how much the staff at Canoe care about your child's needs and want to ensure the best results possible.Kathleen

It was so nice to walk into such a warm, comforting, welcoming environment. My son and I were immediately greeted and given some forms to fill out. We sat in the waiting room which was large and airy and had a few things for my son to explore. Our session was started right away and I felt very comfortable walking through those halls, being introduced to other therapists etc. It felt like a very close knit family was running the place.It was a great experience and we will certainly go back when needed.

All of the therapists at Canoe Therapy are really wonderful and caring. They make you feel welcomed and comfortable in stressful situations, which makes for a great experience. I definitely recommend Canoe for all those looking for therapy for their children!

We took our eldest child to Canoe Therapy to assist with speech therapy and behavioral issues. The process of getting started was very easy, which helped. The process and timelines were very well explained to us.Our therapist was very understanding and skilled. The gains our child made were rapid and gave us a great deal of comfort in our decision to send him to Canoe.We had 6 sessions and the turnaround was remarkable, at which point it was agreed that no further sessions were needed at this time.I would definitely recommend Canoe Therapy to anyone needing professional help with their child, or worried about their development.

Canoe is welcoming for all and I have too many good things to say about the company and those behind the scenes that make it a great place. It has provided opportunities for learning and growing for myself and surrounding individuals. I have experienced it first hand with the therapist and staff going above and beyond for people. My wife and I took our teen-aged son to Canoe Therapy early last Spring for ADHD psychological testing. He had always struggled to do well in school - having to work harder than his peers for the same results. He could be impulsive and emotional and he had difficulty with certain academic concepts. He also struggled to combine speed and efficiency and could find it very taxing to adapt quickly to changing requirements. After several meetings and rounds of testing at Canoe, our son - and the rest of our family - had a clear understanding of his specific areas of strength and and areas of challenge , and we were on a new path together.I am pleased to say that a combination of understanding on our part, cooperation from his school, and low dose prescription drugs has resulted in a wonderful turnaround over a relatively short period of time. Our son's emotions are far more in check, his time management and organization has improved immensely and he has far less anxiety around tests and exams than at any time we can remember. We are very proud of him and I can't believe we tried as parents to manage all this on our own for as long as we did....from JK to the midpoint of Grade 11.He finished Grade 11 strong and his Grade 12 marks are the best he's ever had. Ha has also recently been granted early acceptance at the University and program of his choice beginning in September 2020.We couldn't be more happy with the results - thank you Canoe Therapy!

I love Canoe’s Occupational and Speech Language services, all their therapists are wonderful. They really have each child’s best interest at heart. It feels so great to go into a place were everyone is welcome and children always leave with a smile on their face.

It saddens me to write this poor review. Initially our occupational therapy services were great. After newly discovering that our daughter had some serious issues needing care, I was so relieved to find a good professional to work with her. However, our OT resigned, and I only found out from the receptionist when I called to book our next appointment. The OT never made an effort to reach out to say goodbye to my daughter. When I asked what the transition plan was, I was told that someone" would take the case. There was no personalization at all. I was clearly upset but no one from Canoe made any effort to make things right or reach out to set us up with a new OT.I finally called 1 month later to talk about this experience with the clinical director about our experience and was met with defensiveness and no apologies or admittance that my daughter had received poor care through this non-existent transition process. From this experience I can only conclude that the "leading" Canoe Therapy does not actually care about children. If you want good care when problems occur - don't go to Canoe!"
