Dr. Bosco T.M. Lui

Had a consultation for sinus pain and blockage for months. Got called by this office for an appointment within 3 days.Received call and text reminders for appt, with directions (all which I appreciated!).I arrived on time for my appointment though did end up waiting almost 40 minutes past the time to be seen- expected for a specialist IMO.Dr Lui himself was very kind and knowledgeable. He explained what he thought was causing my symptoms, showed me the imaging, explained what my options were, what the risks of each option were, what I could expect for outcomes for those options. He asked if I had any questions and was very patient with me. Though I'm intimidated by the prospect of surgery I feel that I would be in good hands.

I had a Septoplasty with Dr. Bosco Lui in December 2022. My nose feels fully healed now and I can finally breathe. A blocked nasal airway is an underrated issue for sure. Thank you Dr.

He is not patient at all, I felt nervous when I asked questions to him.

Botched my partner’s surgery; now she has irreversible nerve damage and basically dropped her as a patient the moment she started complaining after her surgery. I’m addition to having a brutal bedside manner, after the first surgery he forgot to prescribe and check the bacterial culture report until I said something to remind him. Terrible doctor, should have his license to practice revoked.

After reading the reviews on google reviews I was preparing my first encounter with Dr Bosco to be unpleasant. Well I can honestly tell you my experience was the complete opposite. I found him to be very professional. He explained my options and went over them in detail. He listened to my thoughts and gave me suggestions. Overall my experience was extremely pleasant. We have to remember we are going through a crazy time in the world right now and having patience and understanding is key to having a pleasant outcome. One never knows what one is going through or has been through each day.

I think Dr. Lui was great. My entire experience from day1 to surgery day (partial thyroid removal) to final visit was great. He was respectful, polite and knowledgeable. Most importantly for me he was a great surgeon. I had no complications, no hoarseness at all from the day after the surgery. From what I read, most people are hoarse for about 1 week after surgery. I was fine. Small incision, healing nicely.His staff too made me feel so welcome, honestly felt almost like family, they were so warm and accommodating.The only not so perfect thing I would say was the fact that I would have liked more information about what it would be like post surgery eg. what will I be able to eat and for how long, what kind of exercise exactly will I be able to do ( that was a very important part of my life) etc. But besides that, he was definitely a 5 star for me.By the way, I must say, Dr. Lui was indeed the best surgeon around based on hours of research on Surgeons who performed Thyroid removal surgery ( complete or partial). Even though my family doctor referred me to him, I would not have followed through if I did not feel I was in good hands.I utilized the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario database and filtered for doctors with more than 5 years of experience. Of those, I checked the reviews looking for negative comments from patients regarding the actual surgery and their recovery. I must have checked at least 15 doctors and he was the only one who had nothing negative regarding his technical competence. Some doctors had even noted 10 years of experience but when I checked the year they actually got their licence that was not the case. One doctor took over a practice and was very popular but in fact only got his licence and education less than 3 years prior. I know some doctors may have been practicing for years in another country but that was not the case for many who appeared to have experience but, based on the database info. on degree completion date and licence date, did not.I would strongly recommend Dr. Lui to anyone. So happy he was my surgeon. I still don't understand the negative comments I have read regarding his manner because, as I have described above from my experience, he was delightful.

Worst doctor I ever had. He did the surgery to open up my left side of the nose, after the surgery my right side is blocked, which was perfectly fine prior to the surgery, my smelling power reduced to about 50%, my middle part of the nose is numb after 3 months and pains when I touch it; his advise, don't touch it, which means I don't wash face, or apply face cream or wipe my nose if I have flue? For smelling power and right side blockage, he says well there are always some risks in the surgery, if you want we can do another surgery to open the right side but I don't recommend, I would say get use to it until right side is not completely blocked and then we do the surgery to unblock it. If I have to live like this for the rest of my life then I was fine with my left side blocked. I am giving him one star because Google doesn't have minus star rating, if there will be a minus star rating then I would have given him minus 5. I really believe, his doctor certificate should have been checked and rechecked and then rechecked because he don't even have common sense. Guys safe yourself from him.

No medical ethics, unprofessional, bad attitude! Doctors should not take patients' appointments if he worries about COVID-19. I don't recommend this doctor. He's the worst doctor I've ever seen. I don't even want to give a star.

I was referred to Dr. Lui after suffering from severe sinus pain, congestion and headaches for months. Completely unable to breathe through my nose and often barely able to talk.The appointment was extremely brief. Couldn't have been in the room for more than 5 min. I was told I had a severely deviated septum and needed surgery. He didn't entertain my questions as to why a deviated septum would suddenly cause such severe sinus issues and just stated surgery was the answer. I stated I would consider it and would do the paperwork just in case. I was then booked for a surgery without consent.The rush for surgery and lack of answers to my questions made me greatly uncomfortable so I sought out a second opinion from another specialist. I was referred for a CT Scan (something Dr. Lui did not do as the wait is very long) and have just today found out that there is NO evidence of a Deviated Nasal Septum. Instead I have been suffering from severe sinus disease for the greater part of this year and was delayed seeking treatment by being referred to Dr. Lui. Dr. Lui was going to put my through an operation to fix something that wasn't even broken.Please do yourselves a favour and go see someone else.
