Y’all, this is Malaysian food IN Amsterdam. It will never, ever, ever taste like it does when you’re at home (I can state this bluntly as a Malaysian), but it will tick most boxes if you have a craving. Also, don’t compare cost to produce the food in Malaysia to Holland. It’s equally unrealistic.Food. Chicken rice. Chicken wasn’t as delicate as it would be in Asia (again, see note above), but the flavor notes were there. Some ginger sauce on the side would have been nice to have. Char koay teow had a little of that wok hei. We enjoyed the greens without sambal. And the roti was the cross between crispy and soft. The curry dipping was delicious, but a little too thin and runny for me, mostly as I suspect it is also used for the curry noodle soup base.Space is small so make a reservation. Signs say they take cash only, but they do allow cards. Family owned and run.

Actually if you born originally Malaysian, you will know the taste of the food good or not. Good delicious food alone not enough without excellent Malaysian hospitality ". At this little Malaysian owner restaurant

A Malaysian local review.Service was great however nasi lemak was disappointing no anchovies and as the main ingredient being the lemak (sambal) it was realistically too little to enjoy a nasi 'lemak' dish. If you ask for more it's an additional 3 euros. For measurement, the sambal would amount to a full teaspoon. We took the roti chanai as stater, and the curry could have been better. Noodles were good/average. Price steep for quality and portion. Teh tarik was good.

Loved this place so much! Authentic Malysian food, very tasty Laksa and yummy noodles. They were about to close, but we convinced them to let us eat there, as we've travelled from far to try their food, that did not disappoint. This place reminded me of Kuala Lumpur. Totally hidden jam.

Good service, clean environment but food leaves much to be desired. If you’re in the mood for South East Asian food in Amsterdam, this Malaysian suggests that you opt for Indonesian cuisine instead.Three of us had hainanese chicken rice, penang style char kway teow, mee siam and fried kang kung with prawns. The char kway teow and kang kung are pretty alright. They were very generous with the prawns… which actually distract from the dishes. The tasty rice is served with poached chicken with soy sauce, topped with fried garlic. The ginger sauce, garlicky chili sauce and soup typically seen with this dish are missing, and the otherwise decent chicken has a generous sprinkling of pepper over the top… not quite sure why? Now, the mee siam… well, it just wasn't mee siam. The noodles were wrong, the spices were wrong, the seasoning was wrong. Perfectly fine plate of stir fried noodles, but not a plate of mee siam.Others appear to be singing praises of the nasi goreng, so maybe try that instead? I won’t be… because I’m not going back.

Best Hainanese Chicken Rice in Amsterdam. Delicious comfort food! I'd always come back just for this dish!Don't let the atmosphere inside the establishment fool you about the food!Nice selection of different items on the menu. Pricing aligns with normal AMS standard.Service is fast. No complains. Fresh, piping hot food that is coming out of the kitchen!

It doesn’t look like much of a place from the outside. However this little place serves good food and it is well worth sampling. Authentic Malaysian meals served up in a small and cozy place.

Not fancy at all, but the laksa and the hainanese chicken rice were bomb, portion sizes were quite generous, and price quality ratio is insane also considering it’s in the center of the city. Staff is friendly, and they suggest you pay by cash.
