Bytown Catering truck was in Kemptville Ontario today January 21st, 2023, around 2pm. Cut us off in the traffic circle. Laid on the horn then made offensive gestures. Then aggressively tailgated for several minutes. Avoid companies such as this who have aggressive and abusive drivers. Hopefully this company fires this dangerous driver.

Bytown caterers were wonderful for my brother's wedding rehearsal dinner in Gatineau. They were quick to respond, communicative and helpful (thank you Houda!). The food options for our dinner for 24 were lovely and there was more than enough to go around. Our guests loved it. The biodegradable cutlery was appreciated as well. The gentleman doing the set up was quick, friendly and efficient. They instill confidence in their service and quality and I would definitely recommend them and use them again!

Food is a 10/10. We chose the buffet for are wedding ! Everyone thought it was the best food they had eaten at a wedding. The service from the staff on my wedding day was a 10/10. So friendly and kind. The only reason I can't give a 5 star is because you need to stay on top of things. The person that takes on your file is often overwhelmed and you need to call back often.

My job hired them for Xmas party. It was AWEFULL. The potatoes were gross, we are not even sure the turkey was in fact turkey... it was icky. Buns were rock hard, gravy watery. We were supposed to have 2 pies for dessert. Apple and sugar pie... they came halfway through our meal to dumb the pies on the table and took off. After opening a few boxes... it was all apple... even the ones that has stickers on them that said sugar pie". They were not even sliced so it was a mess for everyone to slice their own. And when i gave my husband his slice of apple... he said it was so cold... still frozen in the middle... like

Not safe for vegans and the vegan food is basic, boring and left me hungry.Served my partner the vegetarian option which was a block of halloumi cheese. (That is horrible as a vegan to be served animal products, and a lot of vegans find dairy to be the most egregious regularly served food item - fois gras is worse, but not on most menus).Served me a non vegan salad to start, but took it away before I ate it because the bride knew what the menu was supposed to be and saw what I was served.Compared to a steak option for non vegans the vegans were served marinated tofu on bed of arugula. AND THEY UPCHARGED THEM for boring “options” that most people would never look forward to eating.Cleared my partner’s plate before he was done eating (he had stepped away from the table visiting, I was a bridesmaid so seated at the head table) and cleared dessert when he hadn’t touched it.No idea if the wine or bread was vegan and based on the rest of their service I didn’t expect an answer.Slider bar at midnight - veggie burgers were vegan, but not the bun. Neither was labeled, no allergens were labelled at the serve yourself bar and we had a lot of people with special diets and allergies. Probably had pineapple in the bbq sauce because the bride was sick after the slider bar and she has an allergy to pineapple.My chocolate cake looked better than the non vegan dessert, it was delicious and large.

Ordered Christmas Eve meal 2021. Everything arrived at about 3pm. Well packaged and ready to just warm up. Quantities were generous. Salad with balsamic dressing (excellent), mashed potatoes (a little stiff/hard but tasted great), carrots (were not over cooked/excellent), sauce(excellent), dinner buns were good, stuffing (most of my family did not like it… we’re plain people and it had too much going on in it for our taste). We ordered extras: squash soup (excellent), ham was a huge hit (excellent). The only real disappointment was the dessert. We had selected a Christmas chocolate log. It was small, and I personally did not find it great. I was happy I had other deserts to supplement.Overall you can’t beat the price, the service was excellent and made our mealtime a breeze. Loved the experience.

My gf and I ordered the 2021 Valentine's Day meal from Bytown Catering. It was delivered already cooked, we just had to re-heat the soup and mains, including the various sauces. The food was well-presented and delicious, and the price was reasonable. The re-heating instructions could have been a bit more precise; eg. were we supposed to remove the cardboard lids, leave them, or open a corner for steam? But that was the only very minor issue. All in all, a great meal. Definitely recommended, and if we're in lockdown again this time next year, we'll order again!

Bytown catered my wedding last month and we have gotten nothing but compliments from all of our guests. The food was not only delicious, but the portions sizes were huge. My father-in-law had to backtrack after initially claiming he could eat the meal of a guest who couldn’t make it. We were all stuffed by the time the crème brûlée came around (though I managed to find room to eat that as well).On top of the amazing food, the service from the catering staff was 10/10. Buck, the food service director, anticipated my needs before I even knew what they were and I have gotten countless compliments about his service!Highly recommend going with Bytown for your catering needs!

We used Bytown Catering for a small backyard wedding in September 2020 (in the midst of Covid-19).We were looking for a caterer that could take care of all of our logistical needs: food preparation, set-up, service, bar, tables, chairs, tablecloths, napkins, dishes, glassware, silverware and, especially, tents and lighting.To start, I asked a few friends for recommendations of caterers. Then, after researching the websites, I settled on three to contact, providing a brief synopsis to each of our requirements. Right out of the gate, Bytown Catering responded first and confirmed that they could fulfill all of our requests. With that information, I decided I need look no further and began negotiations with Bytown Catering. Our coordinator was Odette and I cannot say enough about her. She was in constant rapid communication whether it was to confirm details or to provide a detailed explanation to one of our concerns/questions. She was always on top of everything and communicated with us in a professional, friendly and confident manner. I believe this is one of the main reasons our event went off so well. From the number of tables required i.e. service, bar, food, reception to arranging a site inspection by the tent provider to choosing colours for the napkins, all details were discussed in the planning stage and itemized in the contract. Nothing was amiss and there were no unpleasant surprises.Odette took time to discuss and plan the menu with us and there was plenty of room for variation e.g. many choices of hors d’oeuvres and the ability to choose two main courses plus a vegetarian choice all with no premium in price. Also, Bytown Catering is very concerned with allergies. They took painstaking care to ensure that no food to which guests were allergic were served. As for the food, all of our selections were delicious from the four hors d’oeuvres, to the salad, soup, main course and the dessert. Our largest meal choice was the beef tenderloin which was of a generous portion, succulent, tender and served with a tasty glazed sauce. The pave potatoes were exceptionally appetizing and complemented the beef. I was especially delighted that the caterers demonstrated their professionalism again by being able to serve the meal hot.The staff at Bytown Catering are decked out in professional uniforms and were friendly and competent. They arrived on time, knew what to do, got at it, and after, cleaned up, and left our house in an orderly state.I would highly recommend this professional organization and would not hesitate to hire them again.

I own The Ark Wedding Venue. We only provide the wedding space. We don't provide any catering or alcohol. The wedding couple is free to use whatever caterer they choose and bring in their own liquor.Over the years we've had dozens of caterers provide the meals and service here. None have come close to comparing with Bytown.Their food is always delicious, hot and plentiful and the service staff are always super professional and friendly.Bytown Catering is my #1 recommendation for couple getting married here.
