Pioneer Cairn
The Pioneer Cairn was erected in 1952 by the Saskatoon Old Timers Association, in memory of the first settlers. The park in which it stands extends along the bank from the Broadway Bridge to the University Bridge downstream. It is called Cosmopolitan Park in recognition of the support the service club has given to maintaining and enhancing this area of the riverbank. East of the cairn is the Cosmopolitan Lookout, an interpretive site and one of the best bird-watching sites in the city. John J. Conn and S. Pugsley built the first sod house in Saskatoon along the riverbank not far from here in 1883.

Pioneer Cairn
Nice little spot to sit and think about the world, is especially nice in May.
