I have now been an on and off now for like 18 years.I took a break from this clinic between the year 2010 to 2017. Now my opinion might sound like I am a ungrateful patient considering the fact of the M.D. shortage problem. This clinic is what on paper and by word of the employees is supposed to be a good healthy healing place, but in fact is quite the opposite in fact in some ways it's even dangerous! This is due to 3 or 4 factors. The first factor is real estate agents would call location, location, location! It just happens, that The CoolAid Medical Clinic & Dispensary also has their dental clinic on the second of the 3 seperate floors of this downtown building. The main reason that this clinic is Dangerous is due to one of the buildings other tenants located on the 3rd floor. The not for profit group that goes by A.V.I. or ( Aids Vancouver Island). What makes this place dangerous is the fact that basically since The killer opioid Fentynol was strangely introduced too the Victoria streets and when it's numbers of direct overdoses directly linked to the new street drug, the city and province okayed the opening of a shooting gallery in the building on the 3rd floor, where the organization already has an unsantioned needle exchange program which to the best of my knowledge the A.V.I was told not to do, and they did it anyway which quite frankly the A.V.I. was right in doing what they did, but this review is for the 1st floor cool air clinic. Anyway I was suffering from a liver disease for almost 17 years. I remember how much stigma I went through at this specific clinic back when was on store street they were the typical kind of professional medical places, if they find out that you were a drug user or were homeless you were treated like second class citizens. Since the city has switched from the abstain from using altogether model too the newer safer model of harm reduction, the clinic has gotten a bit better since those days but there is a lot of other reasons that I personally believe that this place is actually run by staff being criminally neglegent in my personal opinion and personal first hand experience with dealing with them directly, trust me people this place should only be a total last resort. It's a much better idea to just go to a local walk in clnic.
