蜀道 shu tao hot pot

First time here for a birthday, they were kind to let us use the private room free of charge for our large group. I like that it’s individual pots, my satay soup was not bad, quite liked the tom yum gong. However this restaurant really needs to work on their hygiene, the amount of flies that were in the room and landing on all our food and drinks was quite disgusting. We as customers had to borrow their electric fly swatter! Just to kill some of the flies. By the end we gave up and decided to just cook the food longer. The dumplings and beef tongue were good, but the rest of the food quality was very mediocre. Also I’m not sure if the utensils are just not washed properly or soaked in dirty soapy water because they have that smell like they’ve been washed in dirty water, or was it some of the food that was left out in the open for long, it left a terrible taste in our mouths, also don’t order the tripe because you can’t chew through it, it was like old rubber.Thankfully none of us had any stomach problems last night or this morning. My family raved about this place before COVID which is why we decided to go last night, but unfortunately the quality has dropped to the bottom. Please don’t waste your money eating hot pot here. Unless they improve things back to the quality they had before, I don’t see this restaurant lasting very long. Thank you to our server for trying so hard, she had excellent customer service, if not for her I will only give this place one star, the overall experience was just very bad, we should’ve gone to Haidilao or Dolar Shop, where our money is worth it.

The service is consider good for an Asian restaurant. Lots of selection to pick from. It's better than most all you can eat hot pot places. Like every restaurant in Richmond, parking is hard to find during dinner time. Make reservation or this place could have a bit of wait time during the weekends.

Meat quality was very good. Quite pricey for limited ingredients but all fresh. Depending on where you sit the electric heater may not work. The pots were quite oily. Dipping sauces cost extra. Overall decent place if you want individual pots!

One of the highend hotpot places I've been. Ordered veggies and meat (sliced lamb and beef) that 6 of us usually order at any hotpot places and we paid about $60 each, which was about $20-30 more per person. Regardlessly, staffs were attentive, they had quality ingridients, and I liked how they had individual pots.

Food and service was great! Everything was fresh and clean, soups we're super flavourful and a large selection of sauces to choose from.

booked table on a sunday night at 7pm. first time here. the quality of the food is great. very fresh. the service was excellent. the price is not cheap but like what i always say. you get what you pay for. the bill was about $160 (4 people) and we tipped 15%, so close to $50 each. (is on the cheap side of what they offer on their menu, we didn't order any beef)had a great time with friends. good conversations.not like those all you can eat hotpot places, you will concentrate on the food but not the conversations, because there is a time limit. AllYouCanEat is close to $35 each at most places anyways.here you can take your time and enjoy.recommended.

High end hotpot restaurant in town.Lots of great selections but a tad pricey. Paid almost $60/person

The food here is very good. I like the tomatoes soup at haidilao. However my friend recommended the duck soup and it turns out to be good. All the food looks quite fancy. The price is reasonable like other hot pot places.

With covid restrictions easing, my friends and I wanted hot pot at a restaurant with individual pots per person. I heard through word-of-mouth that their tomato broth is something the restaurant is proud of. I ordered it with high expectations and I have to say their tomato broth is hands down super delicious. The broth was tasty without being overly salty. My friend across from me who ordered the pork broth liked the tomato broth more. The meat portions are good. The vegetables are well-washed and super fresh. The veggie platter bowl is a lot of vegetables. The sauce bar is an extra charge and is not included (double check the bill to make sure the sauce wasn’t charged if you didn’t use the sauce bar). The service was great and prompt. They were attentive in refilling our pots with broth. They were able to accommodate our birthday cake for our table’s celebration. I enjoyed my time here.
