We recently required some water removed from our basement due to an issue with a crack in our foundation. I called Robert at Restoration 1 Ottawa at 9:30 pm on a Friday night and his crew was at our house by 9 am the next morning.Chris and Sam arrived with a barrage of high powered fans, water vacuums and industrial dehumidifiers. Both Chris and Sam were extremely polite and helpful. They worked diligently for several hours and explained every step of the process. Once the water was removed, they applied an organic mold inhibitor and set the fans and dehumidifiers in motion. They left the fans and dehumidifiers with us all weekend and picked then up on Monday morning when the basement was bone dry ! Jamie came within hours of our call to assess the water damage in our basement from a failed septic pump, and he and his crew worked through the weekend to remove affected flooring and drywall, and pressure wash and disinfect the area. Excellent customer service: he and his crew couldn't have been more professional, pleasant or effective in their dealings with us. Highly recommended!

Jamie from Restoration 1 was a huge asset in my larger plumbing project, providing consultation, advice and preparatory/restoration work.He generously took the time to walk through my project and to provide expert advice.He helpfully provided plumbing company contacts so I could gather several quotations for my larger plumbing project that spanned three floors.He provided pre-plumbing prep work and post-plumbing restoration in my kitchen, which now looks just as good as new.Jamie and Restoration 1’s honest and candid approach was much appreciated in what seemed an otherwise daunting project. I dealt with Jamie Luck on this project. We were concerned about mould in one of our rental apartments. Jamie's advice was most helpful and, although he would have taken the job, he recommended that we look at other options which would be less costly. Restoration 1 to the RescueA flood in our bathroom caused damage to the hardwood floors throughout our entire condo. There was additional water damage to the two units below. After the initial consultation, with a restoration company our insurance provided, we were told repairs could take up to a year. During that time, we would be forced to move out. Unhappy with the lengthy time frame, I immediately searched to find another contractor.Enter Jamie Luck, from Restoration 1, in Ottawa. Upon his initial assessment, in September, Jamie walked me through the steps needed to complete the restoration. He took the time to answer my many questions and assured me that the job would be done not only to our satisfaction, but in a timely manner.Floors would need to be ripped up and reinstalled, as well as drywall replaced in both the bathroom and two hallway closets. Yet, Jamie assured me we would be back in our home by Christmas.The entire team at Restoration 1 worked diligently to complete the momentous tasks. Jamie was quick to update me on the progression of the work and walked me through the completions, with each visit to our home.During the mold removal in the hall closet, more, extensive mold was found, extending into the kitchen and behind the cupboards. The insurance company had missed this in their original inspection. The lower cupboards had to be rebuilt, and a 4-foot-high area, across the back of the main kitchen wall had to be gutted for mold removal.Imagine our joy, when on Christmas Eve Day, we arrived home to the most gorgeous restoration. New, dark, gleaming hardwood floors, the vast drywall project complete, and freshly painted walls. The entire crew was there to greet us, while working on the last-minutes details. It was a Christmas to remember.Jamie and his team at Restoration 1 really care about their clients and the quality of their work. They complete projects with integrity and pride. I went out for a few hours to go shopping and came home to a flooded kitchen. My kitchen tap had sprung a leak. I called a plumper to fix the tap but water had already leaked down into my basement. I was worried about the water damage. I called Restoration 1 Ottawa because they had some good reviews on the internet. They answered the phone immediately and came by to check out the damage. Within a few hours I had fans drying up the mess. I was very happy with their quick professional service. I was worried about possible mold forming after the water damage but Restoration 1 examined everything after it was dried out a few days later and told me I had nothing to worry about. Now 6 months later all is still well.

First General employees did excellent work repairing basement water damage.First General employees completed the initial cleanup, including providing an inspection and estimate. All of this went very smoothly at all levels.The repairs were conducted by Eric, a First General specialist. His work was amazing. This included redoing drywall and insulation, replacing moldings, and painting. He ensured that the moldings and paint matched perfectly with the original paint and moldings. One cannot tell that there was water damage as it appears that the repaired areas are brand new. It is obvious that he is very skilled in doing this work.My wife and I are very appreciative that Eric was able to adjust his time table to fit in with appointments and our previously planned vacation. It was a pleasure to meet Eric and to interact with him during the repairs.All the interaction with First General employees was pleasant. They were all very friendly and helpful. I will be sure to use this company in the future if I ever need their type specialized services.
