Extremely salty for every dish we ordered! Probably it’s their way to make clients order more drinks. Nice ambiance, good service, excellent cocktails but can not give 5* because of the food.

Nice Peruvian-Japanese restaurant. Almost all the flavors uses ají amarillo, bonito flakes, and seasoning flavor. I would like to taste something different from it. There was no tasting menu for the moment but if there is, i will definitely go again. The drinks are exquisite, very photogenic. The place is nice but the lightning for selfies has to improve. This place is for tapas (small portion food) and drinks so dont go there hungry. It has the vibe. The scallops were overcooked but aside from that, all the other dishes were delicious. The eel sushi with an exploding flavor of ají amarillo, fresh fish with aji amarillo, shishito in bonito flakes, etc. But the most delicious and exotic was the suspiro dessert. Miso, manjar and dulce de leche in one spoon. Delicious.

Tasty cocktail and tapas-style dishes but a tad bit expensive for what you get. Favorite were the udon and the chirashi- creamy and fresh! The most disappointing was the shishito peppers- it had 4 shishito and the rest was snow peas. Still a cute place for a date but won’t be a weekly thing.

Be a big fan of real japanese sushi ! So from the beginning, I’m not so sure about fusion of Peruvian & japanese.! So let have a fresh and opened mind when you decide to try out this type of restaurant. But surprisingly, i’m quite impressed about this place. I have chance to seat at the kitchen counter and talk with the chef in the kitchen. It was a great experience!Cocktails are great with nice presentation! The foods are fresh with some touches of Peruvian cuisine and having nice balance! I had some nice tuna and salmon tarta !So don’t expect to have plate of sushi like you usually have at a sushi restaurants.!

I happen to be a big fan of Peruvian food - a take on Asian food courtesy of Peru. Peru has got some of the best restaurants in Lima in the world. I’ve been there. And it’s true. Nikkei in Montreal is an awesome expatriate experience of Peru in Montreal. The best part of it beyond awesome food is staff. We sat at the kitchen counter and the chefs on the line are not just committed to good food, they put enough love and genuine care it’s like dining with a friend who just happens to be an amazing chef.My favourites were the cod and the scallops, but Sebastian who was working with Gary in front of us, said the menu changes by the season. So we are definitely going back.

Incredible service! I can't believe I'm just finding this place. A bit on the expensive side, everything was 15-20$+ but The drinks were absolutely phenomenal and Michael-Angelo was an incredible server! I will definitely be coming back 1000%!

Marvellous restaurant! I was never a fan of fusion cuisine but honestly, Peruvian and Japanese fusion is a hell of an experience. The food was amazing and the choice of drinks were all interesting. Would definitely recommend for Japanese foodies!

Came here for a Valentine’s Day dinner, and we were very happy with our experience! We heard this was the sister restaurant to one of our favourite places, so it was definitely high on our list. The ambiance and decor was great, and the food/drinks selection was unique and delicious! They mostly serve as a tapas restaurant, and I highly recommend taking about 4-6 dishes if you are a two people dining here - it’s such a great place!

We have had lots of experience with Japanese Peruvian cuisine (Nikkei cuisine) both in Lima Peru and in Toronto and Miami. We did go in with high expectations. First off, decor and ambiance are great. The host was nice and welcoming and wished us a good night when we left. The table was ready on time. The cocktail menu and presentation are excellent. The cold dishes are far superior to the warm dishes. Food presentation was great! The issue: the flavours are repetitive. The same yellow sauce (which we suspect is an Aji Amarillo based sauce) appears on several dishes. It’s delicious, but repetitive. The garnish was somewhat repetitive too. The single dessert item is way too sweet and lacks any textural balance. Needs some crunch or something bitter to offset the sweet. The biggest issue for our party of 5, the attitude of the waiter. We all noticed it and it almost ruined a special occasion. Well, we didn’t let it ruin a special occasion, let’s put it at that. He was condescending, short tempered and appeared to have some issues with our group because we could see he wasn’t behaving this way with other tables. Perhaps a language barrier issue? Shouldn’t have been as we all spoke French and communicated in French. Perhaps an off night. Perhaps something else. We will not be returning, but definitely worth a visit if you’re from Montreal and you’ve never had Nikkei cuisine.
