Cool Choir

I really don’t know where I would be right now, if I hadn’t discovered Cool Choir. I moved to Alberta just before the first Covid lockdown. I only knew my kids and granddaughters here, and I was trying to move my 86 year old parents across the country. I hadn’t had the opportunity to meet new people, nor had I joined a church. I really missed singing and I had heard about Cool Choir before leaving Ontario, so I thought I would give it a try. Of course we were masked and distanced, so again, it was a bit tricky to get to know people. I did, however, love the camaraderie, the kibitzing, and the song choices. Jamie has done an amazing job, inspiring us during these difficult times. I don’t think that I have ever met someone with such an upbeat, positive, resilient spirit! When we weren’t able to meet in church anymore, we started practicing on Zoom. Again, the singing, the song choices, the socializing and the laughter have been incredible! Our work together, culminated in a fantastic opportunity to create a virtual production of one of Jamie’s compositions which gave us a true sense of pride.If you’re thinking of joining, don’t hesitate for another moment, just do it! I hope you love it as much as I do! I can’t wait for the chance to perform live with this amazing group of individuals!

So much fun!I really look forward to singing with Cool Choir every week. I like the flexibility to attend another night's practice if I can't make my usual night. It's not just the singing that draws me - I enjoy the social aspect of being with like-minded music lovers. Jamie is so enthusiastic and supportive of participants of all abilities. He picks great songs to sing and his arrangements are wonderful. We have fun performing at a variety of venues around the city. I highly recommend joining this choir.

Every time I go, it’s such a breath of fresh air. A fun and lighthearted atmosphere, and the music is excellent and also therapeutic. Sing your heart out with total abandon, or be quiet as a church mouse.

I have recently joined the CoolChoir and my only regret is that I didn't join sooner! I am loving every moment singing popular songs that are so cleverly arranged by Jaimie. He is definitely blessed with a gift of music and his enthusiasm motivates a community of singers to produce amazing harmonies. His goal of having everyone leave each week with a spring in their step is one I totally back. The world certainly needs a lot more positive energy and Jaimie's Cool Choir exudes happiness and harmony! Thank you Jaimie for sharing your gift with so many!

Cool Choir is more than a place to sing. It has been a wealth of friends. It is a creative outlet. It is a therapeutic stress release. It is an opportunity to shine and perform. I have met some of my dearest friends there. Their smiles have helped me through some terrible times, both in person and online. Jamie is the kindest man I know. The songs are fun, uplifting and so enjoyable to sing. I love being a part of this choir. I can't wait to sing again!!

Cool Choir is one of the best musical experiences I have ever had. We learn new musical skills, we share laughter, make new friends, and perform at awesome venues - most recently at the Jubilee Auditorium - doesn't get any better than that! Jamie is a beautiful, talented, and funny individual who shares openly with us the funny, the heart felt experiences and the awesome things he does with his life. He is an inspiration to all of us. Cool Choir is a fun and engaging way to connect with friends and Sing! Jamie our choir leader is a gifted and zany guy who keeps every practice fun, interesting, fast paced and inclusive. There are no tryouts you just have to love to sing and be with like minded people. My Thursday nights would be boring without Cool Choir.Jamie also has also kept us all singing throughout the pandemic with our zoom practices and he arranges all our music and has even written a few beautiful original song just for us. Come on out and join us.

As a member of cool choir since its launch, it is something I truly enjoy and find it very therapeutic. It is a great way of making friends, having fun and plenty of laughter! Jamie the Choir Director does a great job of keeping everyone on track. A great way to spend a Thursday evening!

I found Cool Choir via my niece Marina. Singing in a choir and singing in public was a brand new experience to me. Cool Choir makes the community integration, the learning, the self presentation so easy. I love every minute of our rehearsals, our shows, our socials, our get togethers! Thank you!
