Our family has been taking class at Intention Martial Arts since they opened 7 years ago and our experience has been excellent overall. Initally we signed up our 4-year old son. My husband and I were so impressed with the husband-wife owners/instructors that within 6 months we had also joined up in the adult program. A couple years later, when he was old enough, our younger son began participating as well.They have classes in a variety of martial arts disciplines including shotokan karate, modern ninjitsu, kickboxing, and combat submission wrestling for kids and adults of all ages. The school offers instruction in competition style martial arts (such as kata, sparring, and submission grappling) and also teaches skills applicable to real-life self defense. This is really the place to go for a truly well-rounded matial arts experience.The level of instruction at Intention Martial Arts is exceptional. Instructors are highly skilled martial artists in mulitiple styles, as well as talented teachers who have fantastic qualifications. The instructors are consistantly upgrading their own expertise too, and from time to time grand master instructors will conduct seminars at the school.In a mutally respectful envirmoment, students are constantly challenged to improve their skills in a place that is still warm, friendly, supportive and fun!Students from the school have consistantly done well at a variety of tournaments and my sons just love being part of the competition team, competing both locally and in other towns.Training at Intention Martial arts has helped develop self confidence, keep focused, persevere, and stay humble while learning new skills, and maintaining a high level of physical fitness among friends. As an adult learner (starting martial arts in my 30s), I've been able to learn things I had never imagined myself being able to do.For my kids, training at Intention Martial Arts not only has them working on a skill set as young martial artists, but as a huge part of their lives, it sets a positive tone for their overall life experience.Importantly, the school is kept very clean and is well located in an easy to access area with (free after 5) underground parking and, conveniently, a Starbucks around the corner. They offer lots of classes, 6 days a week, so it's easy to find something that fits into your schedule. Training is priced at an affordable value, and also, if you miss a class, they usually allow make-up classes at no extra charge.

Great School. I have been going for 7 years. The teachers are excellent with children and Adults. They bring in their own Sensei's frequently to teach Seminars. It is a friendly no ego environment! I recommend trying a few classes for a few weeks to see if it is for you.

I have been coming to Intention Martial Arts for just over two years, and I'm really happy with the school. They offer a variety of classes (karate, kickboxing, ninjitsu, and combat submission wrestling) and the level of instruction is really great in all of them. The instructors have excellent credentials and are very good at passing on their knowledge to others.Students at all levels are appropriately challenged and constantly improving their skills, and students from the school have consistently done well testing their skills against others in tournaments.The class environment is friendly and welcoming, and the dojo is clean and well-maintained. The kids' and adult classes are both excellent. And, as an added bonus for parents of young children, a number of classes are offered after 8 pm!Another nice thing is that you can try out a class for free, and if you're still not sure, you can sign up month by month (although there is, of course, a cost savings if you commit for a longer period of time).

This a great place to learn from one of the best martial arts instructions. Marlon Bonilla is a great teacher who understands how to share his deep knowledge and understanding of the martial arts. It is also a fun and friendly place to study the martial arts.
