Budget Car Rental

We received an excellent service upon arrival in Halifax. It was quick but most important upon the return of the vehicle, it was easy. We had a valet waiting for us and he took charge of the vehicle very quickly. Excellent service.

Rented a Ford Explorer at the Halifax Airport. The car was a dream to drive and the staff on pick up and drop off were extremely helpful, and a pleasure to deal with. The gentleman who we dropped off the car to us helped unload our suitcases and my sister's walker and offered to get us a trolley for our suitcases and loaded it for us. The desk staff had the greatest sense of humour and were absolutely wonderful. True Halagonian hospitality. I wouldn't hesitate to highly recommend them. Super- fast service as well. Extras a very expensive. Charged for snow tires in winter, which I felt for safety reasons should be included due to the season. And insurance offered per day was $13 less than what I pay per month. I found the vehicle was clean and reliable, but the extra charges were pricy and I would definitely shop around for a better deal while traveling.

Today I had the privilege of dealing with Kelsey at the Budget counter at YHZ. I had a problem with a car that I already was renting and no questions asked she changed the car in no time and I was on my way. She is kind, understanding and her customer service skills are outstanding. There were a couple of people ahead of me and both couples complimented her on her kindness.

Charles at the Halifax Airport Budget Rental desk was professional, polite, and so helpful. He helped me choose a car that suited my driving preference (and even joked that he didn't have a BMW for me), and he just made the renting process simple and fast. I felt the price was more reasonable than others I checked for comparable cars and durations. I will definitely use Budget again and will probably switch my business account there.

Easy and straight forward service. Car was clean and working good. Make sure you don’t purchase insurance until you are at the counter to see your options because there is an expensive flat rate that leaves you with a deductible or a daily insurance rate with a zero $ deductible in case something happens. The daily rate was better. Drop off was super quick and easy.

The staff at budget was super accommodating. I had asked for an upgrade, and they gave me a larger vehicle at a very reasonable price. I then needed a bigger vehicle given the luggage we had, and they were super flexible and accommodating. I was extremely pleased with my overall experience at budget and would highly recommend.

The desk personnel was very efficient, while at the same time they were very conversational carrying on witty banter. This made the experience of picking up my rental quick and enjoyable. The ease of dropping off the vehicle is extraordinary, since within 15 seconds of exiting my vehicle I was met with a representative, handed over the keys and was on my way to meet my flight. Had I been running late, this level of service would have been invaluable!

Budget was easy to book and prepay. When picking up the vehicle, the staff were wonderful (in true Halifax fashion!) and gave me a choice between two different sedans. Returning was quick and easy as well. I am definitely a returning customer and highly recommend Budget at the Halifax Airport!

I reserved a car from Budget. When I landed in Halifax and arrived at the Budget counter I waited 45 minutes in line. After I checked in I was told of an additional 30-45 minimum minute wait for a car. I was then offered a Tesla for an extra $50 a day. I gladly took them up on their offer even though I had never driven an electric car. A very brief tutorial showed me how to start and drive the car. Nothing else. When I returned the car I was charged an extra $470.12. When I asked I was told I was 30 minutes late and the car battery charge was below the 80% level required. I was never told about this requirement when I given the car. I have rented Budget quite often in the past but this experience has soured me on the company. I will definitely be looking elsewhere when I book again.
