Ask for Carole!! She’s an excellent examiner and makes you feel extremely comfortable and will answer any questions you have thoroughly before the test. If you’re someone with nerves, she makes them disappear before you ever start the test she’s beyond good at her job. Whatever stories you’ve heard about grouchy examiners and there are some, she is the complete opposite 10/10.

If you do your G test here, make sure you know that HIGHWAY means anything 80km/h or over. Tester asked “have you driven on the highway in the last 3 months”, I said no (however I have driven on the highway many times, just not in the last 3 months). Made me sign something then said I cant take my test, as I “didn’t have enough highway experience”. But only AFTER he made me sign off he told me that “highway” constitutes as anything over 80km/h. I told him I drive on long lake road literally every single day, but they still wouldn’t let me take the test, whatever. Never in my life have I heard someone refer to long lake road as a highway, even if under some technicality it is. And of course they made me pay 40$ to rebook lol. I passed my second time, but with plenty of petty nitpicks that made no sense, such as going ”too slow” in the residential zone, even though I was going 35, and the roads were full of fresh snow. Not to mention they were a good 20 minutes late. They will do anything to siphon your money out of your bank account, just make sure you know this.

I’m December 2022, I went for my G road test. I have anxiety to begin with, and tests make me nervous. So when my instructor approached the vehicle, I wanted to break the ice, just to try and make everything go smoother. She cut me off, wouldn’t let me ask a question and told me to wait till she’s done her “speech” before I ask anything. Her name was Michelle. She was very ignorant and had zero compassion. I was maybe going 56 max on barrydowne road and she told me “I can only warn you once to watch your speed”. Her tone made the entire ride uncomfortable, to the point I was very emotional after and scared to even do another road test. Her words she said to me were “if you passed, you just barely did”. Then she checked her tablet and said “yup see, you didn’t pass”.She’s definitely not a people person and should be removed from this position. Now, the reason I’m giving a 3 star is because today, I went to do my test again. I had a wonderful experience. Right away I was treated in a friendly manner, she introduced herself as Kelly, and full of smiles. She was great when giving warnings on turns and directions, she explained clear and with compassion on things that I need to work on, and she made the ride feel as comfortable as it could be.I’m extremely happy that my negative experience turned into a positive. But if you do ever get Michelle, stay clear and ask for someone else.

Was here for my G2 test and didn’t pass as for a few reasons but how she greeted us and made me feel was the main reason I couldn’t focus!!The instructor came out and instantly was very rude, told my mom very sternly “you need to leave” and for me to get in the car and roll my window down. (Very aggressive like)In return it made my heart pound so I was extremely nervous and scared.Yes there was somethings I didn’t know on the test as no one ever taught me those things. But something I was told by multiple people I was told was incorrect by the instructor. As I was trying to back into a spot I needed to correct myself by going forward and straightening out, before I got the chance to put the car in drive she’s yelling and freaking out thinking I was going to hit the car beside me, never letting me finish. After she yelled at me I forgot to use my blinkers in the parking lot out of that spot and forward into another so she marked me down again for that.Worst experience made me feel scared and nervous and not confident or comfortable!!!!Distribution of instructor (Short, stocky a bit, medium length dark hair. Wore blue work shirt)

I had the same experience except in reverse! I had Kelly the first time and she was so amazing I unfortunately did not pass because I had 2 errors I needed to fix my exhaust to help me maintain proper speed and I needed to work on my right left right left.Even though I was not successfull my first attempt the instructor made me feel confident that if I worked on those 2 errors I would be fine the next time around.Still having confidence I booked for the next available date which happend to be In Espanola which I was previous for my g2 and it was an awesome experience so I went in excited! As soon as Michelle walked up to my car I did not get an introduction she just yelled at me to signal check and brake check (before even confirming who I even was).Upon opening the door to my vehicle she made the largest insulted grunt followed by I can refuse your test right now just because your car is such a disaster"My reply was "my apologies my oldest has special needs and I didn't have time before I left do tidy"Her response? "Well thats no excuse you should have made time!"I went from happy to defensive in 30 seconds flat

Beware! I took my G for the second time this year here and failed for absolutely ridiculous reasons. The first time I failed the instructor told me I did not check my blind spots and rolled through a stop sign, so whatever I accept my mistakes and wait to retake it. A few months later I retake it and everything seemed to be going well, at the very beginning he said and I state “all instructions will be given well in advance”, this includes switching lanes and when to stop. We went about the test and things were going fine, one of the maneuvers he got me to do was “go from the left lane when it is safe to do so and back to the right when it is also safe to do so.” So after doing this a few times I assumed that if I were to change lanes I would have to be instructed to do so. At the end of the test I find out I failed for maintaining the left lane and blocking cars behind me and not checking my mirrors “every five seconds”. I am going to Espanola or north bay for my next test as this place is just out to steal your money and that’s clear as day. DO NOT TAKE YOUR G TEST HERE.

For context, I live in Toronto and did my G1 test at the toxic cesspool which is the downsview drive test. After that harrowing experience I decided to book my G2 in Sudbury and visit my folks up north at the same time. I was amazed at the small and organized nature of this drive test center. But most amazing of all... I saw people actually smile there. The staff weren't rude or hostile and the vibe was kind of chill and efficient. Nice place to do the drive test stuff and avoid the massive stress!

Took me 15 minutes longer than what it should’ve taken me to even find this place. Failed my G today after driving more than an hour to attempt it!I was told that I was not meant to obey the 30km/h (on a sharp curve) sign when there is a yellow line painted on the left hand of the road as it is specifically meant for buses and bikers (because bikers are biking on 80km/h interchanges daily- silly me, I should’ve guessed bikers can bike faster than my vehicle). I don’t know Sudbury like the back of my hand as I am not from Sudbury. She told me “We only obey the speed limit in the winter, you’re slowing the traffic behind you”.She kept reminding me that the speed limit was 80km/h on the highway. She told me that when I am merging into oncoming traffic I am meant to be going 80km/h. I couldn’t merge because (surprise, surprise) it was rush hour. I got docked marks for that. I live on a four lane highway- I know that when you’re going to slow down a huge line of traffic you wait until it is safe to merge. If you cannot merge you are meant to stop and wait rather than cause an unnecessary (potentially fatal) accident. I was slowing down until it was safe to merge because I didn’t want to cut off a pickup truck.I also went through two yellow lights because I was already in the intersection and figured that going through would make sense. Sorry, next time I know to break immediately when the light turns yellow and cut off a family of 4 walking. Thank you to the middle aged white woman with crispy bleached hair! Made my day!

I did my G drive test last month. Kelly was my instructor, I had a pleasant time with her. She was very friendly, and eased my nervousness about completing the test. Except the exam, she also thought me many useful driving notices. She is great!!

Worst experience. I was waiting at center for 45 minutes and when my number came , old lady said I can’t give my cvor test because of its past 4:30 , they supposed to announce that at 4:30 but they didn’t and after my turn they will announce at 4:42. And she let somebody else give test after 4:30 .
