Gingerbread Manor Bed & Breakfast

Perfect location walking distance to old Montreal and restaurants/bars. Our room and bathroom was very clean and spacious. Hosts were extremely flexible with dietary restrictions and made delicious breakfasts, vegan and non-vegan. They also provided great suggestions for places to eat and things to do. Would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful home and great location. My boyfriend and I visited for a weekend and loved our stay. The hosts were very friendly and made us a great breakfast both. mornings, very accommodating with vegetarian meals both times. They also provided great recommendations for local patisserie, bakeries, and overall made us feel very welcome. We’d love to stay again.

The hosts are very friendly and chatty, and it's nice to share a homemade breakfast with them and the other guests. The room with the private bathroom was comfortable and spacious. I loved the location, not too close to the touristy areas, and with a more local life. The university area is vibrant, offers great food, has quaint houses, and many streets to wander around. The walks along the quieter streets are also very pleasant.

We booked at Gingerbread Manor at first because our youngest is at McGill and this B&B is minutes away by car. We were so pleasantly surprised at the comfort level of the rooms everything you could need is there. The place is so clean, the beds are so comfortable and crisp. The hosts are available, breakfast and coffee all delicious. For us it felt very much like home. Very private and very safe. If you are driving your car, be sure to book a parking spot with them. Wonderful neighbourhood, lots of restaurants and shops. Memorable spot!

No better way to experience Montreal hospitality, rich with Latin Quarter vibes! The hosts made it a memorable stay: awesome hot breakfasts served in antique china, edgy [Jewish] humor, and tips for best-value local restaurants and must-see landmarks. Place is a charming townhouse near Square Saint-Louis, with large rooms and eclectic furnishings. Was also nice to rub elbows with a diverse crowd of tourists staying at the manor.

We had a most enjoyable stay at Gingerbread Manor. First of all the location is very practical, round the corner from a metro station and also only a 20 mn walk away from Old Montreal. The house itself is a time warp, a stunning example of superbly preserved Victorian style. Our room (de Maisonneuve) was appointed to perfection. Breakfast was a different experience everyday, expertly orchestrated by our hosts who also regaled the guests with their knowledge of the city and an endless well of (corny) jokes! It certainly made our Montréal stay a unique experience.

Beautiful, comfortable, clean and extremely well-located bed-and-breakfast (a 4 minute walk from the metro and a quick walk from lot of cafes, restaurants and shops in the Plateau). Our hosts provided an excellent breakfast (French toast one day, cheese and mushroom omelettes the next, along with a selection of fruit, cereal, and baked goods). Clean towels and a bathrobe provided for use in a shared bathroom; toilet separate from bathroom and also shared. We had a room on the third level of the house, but a handy rail on either side of the staircase meant that it was easy to go up and down (even though my knee was stiff one day we stayed there). Thank you, Yves and Ephraim, we hope to be back sometime!

Great experience.The room and bathroom were perfectly clean and really well equipped, you can tell thought is put into it. It includes an AC. The bed was very comfortable. The building is gorgeous.The breakfast was delicious and there's plenty to choose from.The location is very convenient, it's about a 10 mins walk to a metro station and shopping places and events. It's very quiet though, I am a light sleeper and couldn't hear a single car.The hosts are lovely people, very friendly.This is one of the most affordable and reasonably priced places to stay in Montreal. Highly recommended.

We stayed several nights at Gingerbread Manor B&B and it was ok. Their digital lock system for the room was inconvenient. Sometimes it works sometimes it didn't, we got locked out at midnight a couple times.The location-wise, it's not centre of downtown so you need to walk 25 minutes to downtown or 40 minutes to old Montreal. Good thing is the area seems to be safe, there is a beautiful park just 1 block away. (Metro station is 5 mins walk)Bringing your own body soap is highly recommended for sensitive skin people. My skin got irritated by using their body soap. The washroom was pretty clean.I liked the view from the room window, the bed was comfortable also. Only thing disappointed me was the bathrobe hanging inside the closet smelled really really bad. I'm sorry but I don't think I would stay here again.
