The Grilled Cheese Hideaway
The food far exceeded my expectations! The grilled cheese (za) was great, and the soups were spectacular, especially the potato mushroom & brie soup. The staff were also very friendly.

I got the Great Northern and LOVED it! The flavours worked extremely well together and the cheese was juuust melty enough and the apple chutney gave it a really cool kick of flavour. It did take a little while for it to be ready but SO worth it! I'd definitely come back here again.

I wish I had a time machine. The first thing I would do is go buy a lottery ticket with winning numbers so I could be a multi millionaire. The next thing I would do is go back in time 6 months, slap myself across the face, and give myself a scolding for not eating at the Grilled Cheese Hideaway sooner. I've lived in Bobcaygeon for 6 months, and today was the first time I tried their food. I mourn the fact that I've missed out on 6 whole months of eating here. My partner and I shared 2 sandwiches - Orange is the New Black and Queen B - and they were so good, it was like the world went from black and white to technicolor. Anyway, in this time travel scenario, I buy a mansion which I decorate in maximalist style, breed dahlias in my expansive greenhouse, and eat sandwiches from the Grilled Cheese Hideaway every day at noon with a glass of Veuve Clicquot. If anyone has perfected time travel and is willing to help me achieve this timeline, I would greatly appreciate your help, thanks.

Eclectic comes to mind. Great grilled cheese sandwiches and homemade soups. I had a sampler of 2 different sandwiches and 2 different soups. All were good. My favourites were We got the beet" and a beer/potato/cheddar soup. Delish!"

Family owns cottages in the area and have always heard of this place to be amazing, it was definitely amazing however was amazingly DISAPPOINTING. Sign stated they open at 12:00 PM. Arrived at 11:58 AM, decided to wait. A family separate from my spouse and I arrived in a large group of 9. As they walked up at 12:02 they were changing the sign to open. I could see in the owners eyes they were not expecting or happy to see 11 people the minute they opened. We followed behind the group, already had looked online and knew what we wanted to order. The large group told us to go ahead as they looked at the menu. We walked up to the counter to order, and were informed, “Go there to order (register).” We had no idea of the process, never received a hello, welcome, nothing. No bid deal though, we looked past it from the review's of how good it is. As we walked over to the till we then heard from the younger owner, “we will serve you when we are ready!” This was the point I realized I will not provide someone my hard earned money who treats customers this way. You got a rush immediately I understood that, but we were all patient. The way you were late to open, no big deal, we sat in our car till you were ready. However the way you finally spoke to me, no excuses. Give your head a shake, I will never return, the only “tip” you get is do better. From recent replies of reviews I know the owner will only blame us for the service they provided…

The Grilled Cheese Hideaway
I had the special (Pineapple Express) and it was awesome. My bud had the Greek and he really liked it. We grabbed a pint across the street at Old Dog Brewery and they delivered it to us. Great service and very friendly. The staff even chatted about the best beer for their upcoming potato soup so you can they are passionate and are sourcing local when they can.

The Grilled Cheese Hideaway
Went to try it out as I heard it was good. There was a sign up saying closed, but the hours sign was lit up contradicting. One of the guys was bringing out a table and chairs and we opened the door and the guy inside answered when we asked if they were open and we got a sassy reply. Then the guy carrying out the table and chairs continued to do so taking advantage of us holding the door open, but did not once thank us or seem welcoming. He instead told us it was take out only. When we asked if we could eat at the table and chairs he was putting out, he suggested we take the food to go and visit the pub across the street to eat them and get a beer.... Needless to say, we did not order anything, nor will we be returning. I found them rude and unwelcoming. Poor service all around, coming from a server/bartender.
