In the first few days of jan/21 we had a sewer back up in our unfinished basement. The crew of 4 did well with the clean up and even disposed of a tv box that was ruined in the backup.my issue is with the equipment that is still in the basement. It's been 6 weeks and we still have 2 dehumidifiers sitting here. Only 1 attempt has been made to retrieve said equipment. And winmar didnt show up, after we made arrangements. Please come pick up your stuff winmar.

They take only big order

I called Winmar to clean up a sewage backup in my unfinished basement, a small but messy job. I would have tackled it myself, but with a broken sewer I wasn't sure how to dispose of the mess. It took the crew of 2 workers approximately 40 minutes. The service agent was very responsive and polite, but the workmanship was poor.1. The clean up job was not thoroughly completed (they didn't clean up the raw solids at all under the open stairs, or in difficult to reach crevices).2. They dumped the liquid sewage waste outside, down the city street storm drain.3. They used an electrical outlet that I told them not to use and they blew the breaker (I specifically told them which one to use),4. They unplugged my chest freezer, and didn't plug it back in. I didn't notice for a couple of days and the entire top half of the freezer had completely thawed.The bill was $994.22, they deducted $100 for the ruined food in the freezer. I wish I had used a different company.

I have used Winmar to restore the basement with affected area near the drain pipe due to clogging. Their team took care of it and it was absolutely fantastic job.Then I requested for a quote to replace drain pipe from property line to city line because the roots of my tree broke the clay pipe. The quote was very reasonable and also the work was completed. Thanks to David Douwes!!!!! He took care of everything and provided me with photos and updates on progress and also fixed an additional problem. Kudos, keep up the good work.

We had a great experience working with Justin at Winmar who was assigned to our issue. He was extremely knowledge, helpful and answered all of our questions. We are so grateful we connected with him during this difficult time and so thankful for his help through this process. Highly recommend.

Very unprofessional with unskilled tradespeople.Shoddy and incomplete workmanship.It's a shame Google won't allow pictures of the substandard workmanship to be posted.

Horrible experience. This spring during the wind storm we had a tree fallen on the garage. The insurance company suggested that we call Winmar for help to get the tree off. We called on Friday and initially they said they would remove the tree on Friday night. Nobody came. On Saturday we called again they said they will come on Saturday. Again nobody came. On Sunday we were really freaking out since tree was still lying on top of our heads and we have kids running around. So we called the insurance and they assigned our case to a different company, who removed the tree immediately. We noticed Winmar that we have hired other company to have the tree removed, bye bye, and they wished us good luck. At this point we were already pretty disappointed with Winmar since they couldn’t keep their time and left us at risk.But that’s not the end of the story. The next day, guys came and cleaned the branches from our front yard. Initially I thought it’s the company who cut tree did this because that’s the deal. But no, it’s Winmar! They forgot to cancel the appointment with tree service company after they ended business with us!After three months, I received a bill of $600 for the clean up dispite I already called Winmar months ago saying I wouldn’t pay for the service I didn’t ask for. There’s no contact, no agreement, no nothing. Both side agreed the service was already canceled a day before. Yet they still billed us for their mistakes.Too bad Google doesn’t support posting a picture along with the review, otherwise I will post the screenshot of the text msg with Winmar’s salesmen and the bill I received. It’s hilarious.

I first dealt with Winmar many years ago for a broken tub drain that leaked through to our dining room, and that was a great experience. So when I found mold behind my tub walls behind the tiles in my bathroom, I reached out to Winmar again. Not a great experience. My project manager forgot to send quotes, so I had to keep chasing him. Then on the day the job started, the guy doing the reno work went over the details of the job and did not mention the mold remediation. When I told him that's why I called WInmar, he looked at his requisition, the PM had left that off the list! The guy ( I forget his name) was great-- he called and got the remediation underway, and the work he did was great. At this point I asked for a different PM, and he was better. When it came time to pay the bill, though, it was incorrect-- an amount that was supposed to be credited was on a separate invoice. The actual work they did was great, but the project management was a complete mess.

We have used WINMAR twice in the past 10 years in separate circumstances. The first was Ice Damming on the roof that lead to a roof leak. Winmar came in and fixed the roof, cut out the ceiling, replaced insulation, re-installed new ceiling and we were very happy with the work done.More recently due to the insane rain we get these days with global warming we developed a basement water leak. We call WINMAR on sunday night and monday morning Dave had people there tearing out wet/mouldy drywall and drying the place out. Looking forward to the work on this one being done.We have a lot of confidence in Dave & WINMAR ; thanks for your professional work.
