Vikings with Manners Construction Corp.

Vikings was referred to us by the designer we hired. She had met him in a class they both took and suggested we give him a try. We were aware that she had not worked with him but decided to take a chance.The first day, everything seemed fine, they came and did their work and used a shop vac to clean up. As the days went by the progress decreased and the number of smoke breaks increased. There was rarely any clean up at the end of the day.When we noticed a lip on our stair nosings that they installed, we were told that the flooring we had picked out was “shitty” and we were “trying to make it do something that flooring isn’t supposed to do.” They had also set up their saw in our bedroom, which we thought was strange since we have a garage and a driveway. I truly enjoyed having to vacuum the walls.The tile job was a disaster. There were cut edges showing, way too much grout, high spots and unfinished edges all around. We were told that it was the painter’s job to finish all the edges.Our trim was also very poorly done as there were gaps, boards cut too long, installed crooked, trim hanging below the door jamb and notches were cut out for our striker plates. It looked absolutely terrible and our painter was horrified by the quality of their work.We ended up coming to an agreement with Vikings that they would come and fix our trim but we would hire professional tilers and flooring people to fix the rest. Our tile all had to be ripped out and redone which cost us around $2000.The flooring people removed our stair nosings and said the contractor had simply put too much adhesive on the backs which is why they wouldn’t sit flush.Vikings work was shoddy, slow and full of excuses for why things looked the way they did. If you’re looking for someone to flip a house this company may be fine. But if you’re looking for a quality, professional job, try someone else.We really didn’t want to leave a negative review but felt if we didn’t, someone else would have the same awful experience that we did (and others already had as per the stories we were told by the owner himself).
