Cara Speech Therapy - providing speech therapy in the comfort of your own home

Cara is an amazing speech therapist. She has worked with my eight year old son for several years (non-verbal diagnosed in ASD and cognitive delays). Her rapport with children is unmatched and she was able to get my son to verbalize words when no one else could. She is friendly, loving, fun and has a great singing voice that she puts to good use when engaging my son. My son is a PECS user, and Cara is highly trained in this area (and others). We are so sad to have lost her to Canada, but it is definitely your gain. I cannot recommend Cara highly enough - there are not enough stars. She changed my son's life for the better and we are so grateful.

Cara is absolutely AMAZING!!! She has really changed my life. I was stuttering since the age of 3 and other speech language pathologists could not help me. I couldn't pronounce the first letters of the words when I got nervous, while talking on the phone with strangers was a dreadful experience for me that resulted in a lot of stuttering and inability to pronounce words. Cara gave so many tips on how to increase my fluency and after only 3 sessions I stopped stuttering. I know it is difficult to believe, but she has done a miricle! I haven't been stuttering for the past 2 months now and can fluenty talk in stressful situations and over the phone. She has really changed my life for the better and I am soooo grateful to her! I would strongly recommend Cara to anyone! She is a highly qualified professonal and an amazing person that would make you feel very comfortable and truly help you fix your problem! Cara is the BEST!!!

Cara started working with our son when he was 2 years old and he only had a few words. He was so excited to communicate with her and she chose fun activities that he was interested in. He had developmental apraxia, so it was a slow process to understand his speech. She was so supportive and always provided suggestions for us to try. Cara has the absolute best mannerisms when it comes to dealing with children. My son is 12 and her simple yet extremely effective strategies has allowed him to work through his speech impendent. We am so beyond thrilled that we found Cara and that she helped give him back his confidence. He willingly reads out loud in class, he no longer has anxiety about presenting an oral presentation. Absolutely incredible! For someone who was told by another firm, there was nothing that could be done - I'm glad we kept looking. Thank you Cara!

Like most, when it comes to my children’s development I’m extremely discriminating. After working with and evaluating many ST’s Cara was by far the best. Not only was her skill unmatched, she demonstrated a true enjoyment of working with children. Unlike other ST’s- it never seemed like a “job” to her. She worked very hard, yet my children just felt the joy from her so they never felt like a “task.” Childhood his suppose to fun and carefree. Cara did an excellent job creating a learning environment that was fun while at the same time packed with learning. Hence, their language advancement was swift and enjoyable. They never felt “different” than other kids who didn’t need an ST. They just felt like they had a special friend who loved coming to visit and play with them.We miss her dearly but I don’t miss the stress of needing an ST! Thankfully, my children are all “caught up” and excelling due to Cara!

Cara is amazing! Such a supportive and caring speech therapist. She is patient, knowledgable and so much fun! I love watching her interact with my daughter. She has shown me how to access reading material to help me better support my daughter! Most of all...she's a mom! Which means she gets it!
