Very disappointed. Extremely greasy fish and fries. Like a puddle had formed when I opened the bag. I paid for the Halibit. Even made sure to ask for.tartar and lemon.Not a single condiment.. not.even ketchup. No utensils for eating the salad. Very unorganized.Not again. This is a one and done..

No one cleaned 3 tables during my 30 minutes stay. One guy behind counter was doing nothing but occasionally serving food and tending cashier. I was almost impressed! Knife and spoon, ice and glass for your pop is optional. You won't get it unless you ask for it. The new owner/manager looks ok but when he is not around there is a huge decline in service since the original owner. I am disappointed because I liked this restaurant.

Google search showed Al and Jan's to be #1 of top 10 Fish & Chip places. Fish was good, fries as well. 2 piece order size was generous for both Chips and fish. Service puts it over the top for me. Immediate, welcoming, friendly and lots of smiles all around. I was there less than an hour before closing another long day but you would never know it by seeing the staff at work. Well worth the 12 km trip in traffic to pick up dinner(s). Will be back repeatedly. Thank you.

Greedy owners rip off job no food safe $3 can of pop and 1 staff member to run it all!!! We came in to 2 clean tables out of the 10 available and she's leaving out tarter sauce in the heat and giving it to other patrons that's not food safe!!! Paying $3 for a can of pop is beyond greedy and we won't be back. Coleslaw is gross and the pieces of fish aren't as large as they could be. were boycotting this place and making sure our friends and family aren't ripped off by this greedy lazy owner and his incompetent staff shame on you!!

Chips were over fried, hands down or it was old dirty oil. The halibut was great, batter was crisp and light, tartar sauce not so good.

Edit: Changing the rating from 5 to 1 star.Very disappointing customer service, lying to me about portion sizes, they forgot things we had confirmed over the phone when ordering and paid for, and the food was burnt like it had been hanging over the fryer over an extended period of time. Our family has been ordering from this restaraunt for over a decade. They've lost a family of 7 for life. Very unfortunate because I always recommended this restaraunt, won't be recommending or setting foot inside again.Please see attached photos of what they claimed were 3 portions of chips. We received 2 half portions that were burnt.

Had fish and chips there a few weeks ago, staff was friendly, fish was good, but the fries not so much, maybe the oil needs to be changed more often? the coleslaw and tartar sauce was good, i did find it a bit pricey as $100 for dinner for 4 people

Ordered take-out on April 30. I have been to this restaurant before, doing a take-out and though it was very good. My spouse thought it was good as well and wanted to try it again.We both ordered the cod and chips (1 and 2 piece). On take-out, the fish comes wrapped in paper. I forget the type of paper (not newspaper), but its neatly wrapped where the fish does not touch the fries. I thought it was cool they did this.The fish was tasty. Nicely seasoned, not bland like some other fish and chip restaurants. The outside was crisp and the meat was moist and tasty. The fries are thicker cut and again done well. Not too salty and definitely complements the fish. Both portions were of good size as both of us could not finish our meals.Based on the images from the internet, it looks the owners must have sold the business. Cannot say when the new owners took over, but nonetheless, taste and execution were excellent.

I ordered halibut and chips yesterday .The fries were definitely reheated . They were horrible! I just called and spoke to the manager. He said we always cook accordingly to customer. Absolutely no customer service. I was not looking for a free meal. An apology would of been appreciated. He had no care in the world. Well, I definitely will not be going there.
