This is my biweekly to go place!Perfect grocery shop that offers a wide selection of authentic Japanese good.The sashimi quality is always above the par and the freshly grated wasabi is a must try!Very bless to have such good shop in town

great selection of authentic japanese snacks and drinks. the sashimi is a bit pricey, but prices are often reduced near closing time. the staff are extremly helpful and kind. would recommend.

Amazing quality to go sushi. Delicious crab, shrimp, and roe Inari sushi. Would definitely have sushi here again. Also, very authentic Japanese snacks. It's on the expensive side, but you do get what you pay for.

This place is the best! I went to all the Asian markets in town looking for umaibo and a specific type of blueberry gum, they had it and way more amazing Japanese snacks, drinks, and grocery items! They also had an amazing selection of sashimi and wagyu beef

It’s a very cute Japanese grocery store with products you wouldn’t find in a standard supermarket.Having been living in Japan, I was surprised to find ingredients and snacks that I’d typically find in a grocery store in Japan, but also authentic ones like Yatsuhashi mochi from Kyoto.Bentos are a staple in Japanese grocery stores, and they have handmade sushi bentos and sashimi slices here which is nice to see.Their Wagyu is certified with a big golden trophy which is quite impressive.Overall, it’s a nice taste of Japan away from Japan.

It's at a convenient location. I found that the selection is narrower and most of their pricing is just a little higher than average. However, the staff are very polite and some products are always on sale. They always have/offer free samples as well! I also like the way they display snacks. They put matcha goods together and chocolate goods are in their own section. They also attach a card of discription and how to cook in English to most of their products. How nice they are :)Until today... The employees weren't nice at all when the owner wasn't around. I talked to my Japanese friends about it and they had the same experience. I won't go back.

Always been a huge fan of this place. They have everything Japanese from snacks you'll never see at your usual grocery stores to fresh sashimi cuts. They even have meat selections like wagyu beef featuring both sirloin and ribeye cuts. The Japanese beef selections range from A3, A4 and A5 grades.The meats are prepackages in different cuts and come in all sizes. You can get the thinly sliced or in steak form. Mind you though, some of these prices go upwards of $1500 for the more premium cuts.Edit: Just tried their chirashi don for the first time and oh my goodness I am sooo impressed with the quality! A++++

Quite a few unique snack options that I haven't seen at other Japanese stoes but prices are higher than others (even for some common readily available snacks)

This little unassuming Japanese snack shop inside the Walmart plaza has a front section (upper right hand corner near the entrance) where they sell Japanese wagyu beef! They also sell real Japanese Kobe beef that is registered and one of the few places in Western Canada that is licensed/registered for this. They have so many grades of wagyu, each on a tray. The only problem is their beef is more expensive than other Wagyu places. I think you pay more to know that it’s guaranteed from Japan. I do feel that A3 and A4 were just as comparable if not preferred over A5 (which dripped of beef fat lol).In addition to Wagyu beef, they also sell fresh sashimi. One time I also saw Hokkaido scallops and different grades of blue fin tuna from Otoro to Chutoro. All delicious!
