Great Home Depot. Good size and offers everything you need for home renovations. Prices are always reasonable.

I almost always find what I'm looking for or their people point me in the right direction. I never get this at Rona. I try to use Rona but I've been disappointed too many times at their store to even entertain going there anymore. Home Depot always has what I need for a better price. I wish the local places could do it.

Let me start by saying I like these types of stores in general.... Bigger is better, the selection is amazing...customer service isn't always awesome given its size but generally pretty good. Recently we have started a kitchen reno and these guys were great... Stephanie in the Halifax store was a marvel with the online planning tool...

Due to an inconsistent rental experience my rating has been updated. Rented an aerator for commercial use. Began leaking oil. Tighten and sealed. Leaked again. Had to exchange.

I usually find what I need and staff are generally friendly. One small thing today was that I was in the electrical aisle and was looking at wire strippers. There was a staff person crouched down organizing something in front of me. I had to reach over this person a few times to find what I needed. The staff person could have gotten up and moved out of the way and maybe even ask if I needed help. But they just stayed in the way. A few minutes before that a different staff person asked if the ladder was in my way in a different section. It wasn't but that staff person understands customer experience. Not the end of the world but every staff person ignored customers then this would have been a very different experience.

We find this store overwhelming and it is difficult to find someone to assist. As we are seniors with health challenges, this can be frustrating. While the selection of products is great, what we were looking for is now available only online, and there are less expensive places to shop online that offer a similar product. On the upside, they have a great return policy and can locate your transaction (by card-only payment) if you have misplaced or lost your receipt. For this, we give them five stars as returns may not be as straightforward with other stores/companies.Overall, we would go here if this is the only place that carried what we were looking for, but, we much prefer our smaller, local home improvement stores. While there are not as many choices, and the prices are nominally higher, we can always find someone to assist, do not have to deal with crowds and spend far less on transportation.

The app tells you exactly where everything is, staff is super friendly and you can tell enjoys their job. I would normally prefer a local retailer... But the quality of service and price just can't be beat.

Unfortunately didn't have the best experience at the halifax location. I ordered some flooring from customer service. They didn't tell me a time itd be delivered. No problem, checked the invoice, perfect. Waited until the date went in, no dice. Pushed back a week. Cool. Went back today only to find out its been delayed until may 31st... they also told me they arnt even sure it's going to come in at all. No phone call,no email, no contact at all about where my order Is. Pretty disappointing when I have a room waiting to get finished but the flooring just doesn't exist. It also kinda sucks because the Dartmouth location has always been amazing to deal with.

The staff in the Halifax store are friendly and usually helpful. We had 21/22 new blinds put up last year, late springtime. Lovely helpful people, couldn't do enough for us. A super lady came to the house to measure and show us the materials and colours etc. We chose. 10 of the blinds are battery operated to open and close. A very nice chap installed those. We were away for a little bit this past winter, we had recharged the batteries approx. October. We were back in the middle of March, recharged those again, all work bar one in the bedroom. A large one. A street view window. This is the 16th. day since we first went in to talk to the store about it. A warranty claim has to be made, was done there and then. Phone calls made afterwards to see what was going to be done. Nothing, no one knew, nothing has happened since. Not one lousy phone call from them. We have someone else coming who might be able to help or replace every ******* blind in the house. The result of this......the company is wonderful while your spending money but disappears when they have to stand up for their products.Avoid at all costs.

They have stuff...some of it is even for your home! Some prices are better than the competition, some are not.I get the impression that they are trying to do away with humans at the check out, the staff in general are not as knowledgeable as they used to be even ten years ago, in my opinion, bit of price gouging going on with popular items/sizes.UpdateHD just lost a star from me as, not only was I lied to by staff as to the location of the hand baskets and the reason for their disappearance ( I've been told more than once that they were stolen by customers, which I'm sure some were, but they went away over night so don't try and feed me goose poo & tell me it's foie gras ) but now they've magically reappeared...for sale! What a set of c...sService, their isn't any, but service has gone the way of the Dodo everywhere so I can't pick on HD too much.Update...they've lost another star for the worst paint I've ever used ( I've used better recycled paint) watery, no hiding ability at all, splatters.
