That Guy Van Lines

Had a great experience with That Guy Van Lines moving from Calgary to Nanaimo. U-Haul would have been triple the price + gas. The teams on both ends were super helpful loading and unloading my stuff and taking care to wrap breakable/glass items.

Horrible experienceThey came loaded our 2 bedroom place which was packed up it still took the two lazys 7 hours then took all our things back to kelowna overnight as they were tiredThen they extorted another fee for return mikeage and made several unauthorized charges to our credt card which we have disputed and have the security department investigatingWe gave reported them to the rcmp and consumer protectionThey are plain old thieves and must be stoppedWorst business ive ever dealt withDont give your credit card number to then learn from us

Just have to say they were great, showed up on time and did a great job. I would highly recommend them to anybody... thanks for just a great move

If I could give them ZERO stars that would still be too much. I booked them for a move weeks in advance, I called them twice before the move to confirm details as we changed our move location and both times I confirmed they would show up on our moving date between 8 & 9 in the morning.On moving day they DIDN'T SHOW UP and when I called them the receptionist said she had called both my husband and I within the last three weeks regarding our move and left several messages and did not get a response so they cancelled our move.We checked our incoming calls and our emails and what she said was a BOLD FACED LIE.It took us 12 hours to complete our move, we are new to Vernon and had no one to call to ask for help. I have fibromyalgia and the pain this caused me is indescribable.Then the Telus guy shows up to install the internet and said this company did the same thing to his mother!This company lacks credibility and integrity.Stay far away from them.What they did to us is unconscionable.

I booked through a middleman company, but the folks from That Guy Van Lines showed up when they said they would, wrapped my furniture with care, were smiling and personable, and had my house packed faster than I anticipated. On the other end, they showed up exactly on time, unloaded quickly following the labels on my items. Thus far, nothing broken or damaged! Including a big, heavy, glass doored china cabinet with heavy glass shelves and a big elliptical trainer - both are in perfect condition. No damage to the home while loading or unloading. To me, the biggest advantage was the price. It was significantly more reasonable than other quotes I received although it does not include furniture assembly unless specifically booked. But anything the movers took apart, they put back together. I'd book them again!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. THEY DAMAGED MY NICE BEDROOM FURNITURE USED PACKING TAPE ON THE WOOD FINISH DIDN'T EVEN SCREW THE SUPPORT BEAMS IN FOR THE MATTRESS. AS WELL AS OTHER ITEMS SPEAKERS, PHOTO FRAME BOXES THAT WERE BRAND NEW WERE RIPPED. LOST THE SCREWS TO MY T.V. GETTING A HOLD OF KIM IN THE CLAIMS DEPARTMENT IS A JOKE. I THINK SHE IS FAKE. STOLE MY DOLLY AND STEP STOOL. EVERYONE THAT YOU PHONE IN THE SO CALLED BOOKING DEPARTMENT FAVORITE ANSWER IS I DONT KNOW. THEY DON'T EVEN KNOW WHO THEIR INSURANCE CARRIER IS WHEN YOU DO BUY CARGO INSURANCE OR THE CLAIMS ADJUSTOR. THEY JUST DON'T KNOW ANYTHING. IF YOU WANT YOUR CONTENT DESTROYED AND THEN THEY BLAME YOU FOR IT WITHOUT HAVING SOMEONE TO LOOK AT IT LIKE IT SAYS IN THE PAPERWORK AND TO PAY WITHOUT HAVING YOUR STUFF DROPPED OFF IN THE SAME STATE IT WAS PICKED UP IN THEN USE THIS HORRIBLE. COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!THEN WHEN YOU EMAIL THE SO CALLED CLAIMS DEPARTMENT WILL EMAIL YOU TO TELL YOU THAT YOUR FILE IS CLOSED. HOW DO THEY STAY IN BUSINESS BEATS ME!!!!!!WHAT A BUNCH OF **** THEY HAVE WORKING FOR THEM

Booked this company in advance to move from Vancouver to Kelowna..No one came to look at what I was moving etc gave me a quote over the phone by estimating the size of the house and how many rooms... this gave me pause but price was great so I was happy!! I sent pictures of furniture and told them how many boxes I had as I packed everything myself... They arrived a day early to start moving my belongings into the truck which was great but I was so freaked out at the size of the truck no way was my stuff going to fit but they assured me that they were experts and everything would indeed fit!!!! By the next day being a Friday at noon the mover came to me and asked me what things I wanted to take!!!! What!!!!! Everything was not going to fit into the truck OMG!!!! I was taking possession of my new house on Saturday in Kelowna and the new owners of my house were moving in on the Sunday and they would not be able to get another truck to move the rest of my stuff until Wednesday.... after much pleading with the company she managed to get a truck to come on Sunday around 1 pm when the new owners were moving in... And I had to pay again for a new truck which doubled my quote... they would not release my things at the other end until I paid... IT WAS A DISASTER!!When I started to unpack my things and look at the state my furniture was in I was shocked... my White Couch was all stained, my parents antique clock was smashed, furniture was broken, cushions were lost glass was broken.... They refused to set up my new bed frame because it was in a box .... which I had negotiated at the time of booking ....ON AND ON!!!! I hope you get the picture I could go on forever but I have never been so upset... This was the worst move I have ever had and I recommend that you think twice before dealing with them! No offer of any compensation I was on my own!!!!

My family had a terrible experience with That Guy Van Lines. Even though we showed them exactly what was needed to be packed into the truck they left several items behind, including several large items in my sons bedroom and an entire shed that we dod't realize they missed until after they had left. While waiting for them to come and unload I was told by the dispatcher that they would not be unloading so my family had to find a hotel that would accept animals last minute. THERE WAS NO APOLOGY OR COMPENSATION FOR THIS! It cost us an additional thousand dollars to move the remainder of our belongings, not to mention hotel costs. I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy. Moving is a stressful time as it is, you don't need crappy movers who do not care about their clients.

Similar as the other post, we booked them in advance they were supposed to show up & we phoned after waiting/wasting all day to have them say they cant make it today with no options or notice...... they even phoned the night prior to confirm the move.........dont book with these people based on the other posts this is typical for them to do. Unreliability is not something you want to risk with a move especially without any notice

My mother booked them a long time in advance, they cancelled the day they were supposed to help move leaving her with very little to no options. I would highly advise to avoid using them if at all possible. Just unacceptable.
