Portland Fireplace and Chimney

PFC is a really great, professional crew with uncommon attention to detail and quality.Previous contractors left the chimney in a dangerous condition (house fire risk) and without any sort of weather cap. I hired PFC to clear the chimney and give an estimate. It was not very good news, but I could see they had been very thorough and fair in estimating the cost to repair and improve to our desired condition.PFC did top-quality work throughout the job and stuck to their original estimate. They acted as general contractor for electrical work. When they discovered additional necessary repairs I was given everything I needed to make an informed decision. Their estimate for additional repairs was very fair and they stuck to that estimate too.Chris, Arica, and Louis in particular were great communicators with awesome attention to detail.Chris even remembered on the last day to repair a brick that was damaged before PFC ever came on site. He had offered to repair the brick the week before, remembered, and cared enough to follow through.I not only recommend working with PFC, I would recommend asking them for referrals to other small businesses with similarly high standards!

Could not be more happy with the work. Louis was personable and taught us a lot. The work was impeccable. I cannot believe how clean the chimney was. Louis kept the rest of the room so clean. We have cream colored carpet and not one bit of the chimney material made it on the floor with the shroud he built. Portland Fireplace and Chimney you have made a lifelong customer.

PFC previously cleaned my chimneys and I was very happy with their service, so I called them to address a small roof leak associated with a roof vent. Caleb and Alex were on time, efficient, and communicated well. They did a nice job matching my old shingles. I'm happy to have this taken care of!

Michael was very patient with me as a struggled to decide on a chimney cap, which repairs to complete and which paint color to choose. He never made me feel as though my multitude of questions were a burden or waste of his time. Caleb & Mark completed the repairs quickly and were very respectful of my home. I hardly knew they were there. Everything looks great and I could not be more pleased.

Louis, Caleb and Mark helped us update our dilapidated chimney and modernize with a gas insert. They were all really professional and nice to work with. The new fireplace really makes a difference and they even offered to fix some masonry on the property. I now have the peace of mind that our chimney is no longer a hazard and am enjoying the new fireplace so much.

Very happy with my fireplace installation. Had a wood fire insert installed that required some chimney repair and demo work inside the fireplace. Caleb and Mark were professional and efficient with their work and answered any questions I had at the time. Desirae was also professional and quick to respond. There was an issue with the fireplace door ( manufacturer issue not related to installation). I emailed Desirae about it and Caleb and Mark came out the next day and solved the problem. All in all great work and now my house is now toasty warm.

After the last ice storm that cut off power for 6 days and left my home without a source of heat, I vowed to replace the cosmetic gas burning but heat sucking fireplace insert with one that actually would heat the house during a power outage. The staff at Portland F&C not only helped me select a perfect match for my living room and heating requirements but also discovered a flawed chimney repair job from a previous contractor. Everything was done professionally and within a reasonable time. Calab and Mark worked safely and meticulously to finish the project on time. The communication was great during the whole time of the project. The fireplace looks great!

We moved into a new house that had an aging chimney in need of repair. Having worked with Portland fireplace and chimney before, we called them to get an estimate, and they gave great advice on our short and long-term options. We decided to do a rebuild from the roofline up, and Desirae did a great job keeping us updated on the project timeline while we waited for work to begin. Once the project kicked off, Caleb and Mark did excellent work. They were friendly, organized, and considerate during the project. We couldn’t be happier with the work that was done!

Really appreciated the expertise, attention to detail, and follow through of every aspect of my experience with this company. Had to wait sometimes for office staff response and internal communications between workers and office but smooth overall and very friendly. Inspector and Masons all very knowledgeable and willing to share that knowledge.
